i think that is something tanrak has never been taught. we're introduced to him as this almost perfect role model who is seen as a leader to his peers, molded to be the person he is from such a young age. he has all these expectations on him (placed there by himself with the help of the church) because he was never shown any different.

the motifs this episode! the talk about lines, the bridge - how wang crossed it so easily and how in hesitated, faltered. they are so close to crossing a line. i think they'll get to that point next episode. also i really like how wang admitted in the narration that he has feelings for in that he can't explain. i wasn't expecting him to acknowledge it so passively.
