Whatever it is that's going on between those two goes unspoken. Chet is the young master who sees himself as a…
i feel like this is such a missed opportunity... Chet is so annoying with his tantrums, giving him a love might've made his character a bit more redeemable
real talk what are they trying to do with Chet and his bodyguard? are they canon or just queerbaiting? it feels like they're trying to do something with all these long stares but there's no romantic vibe whatsoever...
The bullying and abusive parents aren't "clichés" they are very real issues for many real people…
Every cliché might've some truth to it, what I'm saying is that they're:
1. Recycling the same tropes seen in every other drama = no originality. If that's your thing sure, but I think it's valid criticism than to say that I'd like to see a show that doesn't throw in every single conventional Korean drama trope...
2. Every character is one dimentional here. They could've made something much more subtle, an actual psychological drama where everything isn't so black or white. This show really feels like a quick dopamine hit for Koreans frustrated with their society, nothing very profound that actually makes one think
Edit: I need to add that the treatment of abuse in this show is very much unrealistic. People outright evil like the lead's dad are a minority, abuse is usually much more subtle and hard to pinpoint, even when physical violence is involved. People won't have a baseball athlete ready to swing a bat at their abusive father, and they won't end up stabbing them either. Abusive people aren't complete trash in the eyes of society either, they often have strong community ties and are well liked, making the abuse much harder to bring to light. This show is not helping the conversation around abuse, because it makes a caricature out of it.
Even when they get an interesting plot they still manage to bring in every cliché possible. The abusive dad, evil step mother, soft male interest with a pure heart, the rich student bully, the corrupt cop... and I could go on with plot points; both revenge stories have been done time and time again...
The only thing refreshing here is the female lead not giving a hint of reciprocated feelings towards any male character, because in the real world when a rich boy helps you it doesn't mean you owe him a love story too. I'm just worried the female lead will get a change of heart in the remaining episodes and give in to one of these guys...
I don't get the comments saying the plot is messy, it's pretty easy to follow imo... I really like it so far, it's kind of refreshing! The sex scene was great, I don't think they needed more skinship considering their relationship at this point.
i hate to be that person because i genuinely love aouboom and it’s been ages but i’m still so disappointed…
As much as i would've loved Ohm in this show, i feel like it would've been a pain to watch him every episode, solely because his partner was not a good match.
I can't remember his name but Ohm was definitely on a whole other level, and I feel like watching that guy struggle to meet Ohm in terms of acting would've made the show awkward.
Whereas AouBoom are quite similar and comfortable with eachother, which will probably make this a better watch, imo...
I agree with you on the low quality but I don't think they will lose the momentum. gmmtv CEO has a marketing mind,…
I think GMMTV went towards the route of oversaturation, akin to fast fashion, people consume it all and quickly because they're looking for a rush. But now it's not only Thailand's market that is oversaturated, other countries are also producing bls left and right. I think when people have way too much choice, they will either go towards higher quality (so not GMMTV) or more extreme (like China or Japan's more toxic, twisted storylines). GMMTV has shown they're willing to go towards darker/mature concepts recently (like Only Friends or the Heart Killers ), but even with good premises they all end up a bit silly or sickly sweet which is a turn off for many based on the critiques... I really hope they move on to produce more quality content as viewers expectations rise but hiring rookie actors and staff has kind of been their trademark so my hopes aren't up.
Going from this back to GMMTV shows will be rough... Thailand is proving they can actually offer good quality gay stories, yet GMMTV with all its budget and presence still opts for mediocrity :/
After a decade of watching BL shows I am so tired of their cheap productions... and now that China has entered the game, I think there's a chance they will lose momentum, anyone feels the same?
Kevin is convincing but the actor playing Siyeol has such a blank stare... He gives off the vibe he's just a model forced to play in a BL,, Hopefully this changes once his character actually falls for Aejun
he’s been heavily black listed because of a bullying scandal, but in his case it turned out that it was just a fight and that the ‘victim’ and him were both just 10 years old…
Let's be real this show has the worst writing ever and equally bad acting, poor Pavel who had to compose with a stiff, emotionless partner and a terrible script...
Willy was the most interesting role here and they couldn't even flesh out his story because of the hordes of side characters! Milk worked well with how little he was given, I wish him a protagonist role with a good director soon

Anyone knows the opening credit song??
