Oh he is bothered by his brother's existence and Tanya's love for him (you say since season 1 but he found out at the last moment of the final episode) but not his success. I thought he'd immediately identify Eunseom as someone to eliminate, figure out plans to use him, especially since Eunseom so conveniently turned out to be Arthdal's main rival. Instead, he's moved by the loyalty of Ago tribe who started to dismantle as soon as Eunseom disappeared🙄. I mean I'd buy it if he was surprised by the idea of unconditional love but he, by virtue of being Saya, should also be aware that this love is for his brother who is selling war to a tribe rife with bad blood. It shouldn't have been that easy for Eunseom to have him by his side.
He is weaker physically. Not in any other way. But this season Eunseom is better at manipulation than him. I agree Saya doesn't seem smart but that's only bcz of his sheltered existence (he has no idea of how people think) and bcz of what he wants (he loves chaos, he wants to be feared, he messed up Tagon's careful plan last season for no real reason). Now, in 8 years he seems cornered, failed and damn, he broke into sobs thinking of dead children-_- It's so not him. At least, I don't like. If it was needed for him to soften, more was needed to convince viewers.
What? Felt inferior? He was hurt and only really cared about Tanya. Other than that he was pretty fuc*ing crazy. Exactly what I loved about him. In this one, he's too loud. And as of ep 7 seems to have taken Eun Seom's side. He had a deadly chaotic character, and for one episode LJG got a little chance of being that but now he's this sobby, mushy, emotional, predictable, weaker brother.
Okay, I was hasty in my judgement of LJG's Saya. My fave character of the show, and he does him justice. The writers...they could've toned down the inferiority complex a little, he's not the type to be so obviously bothered by his brother's success. SJK was fun as Saya, but LJG's no less.
PS: So after a fun episode 6, Saya is totally converted with a sobby tantrum. I just can't-_- Why they gotta ruin the only character I love?-_-

If the whys are not answered it's no plot at all. Or is it just an account of random shits that happened in a vacuum? Why don't you explain the two big af plot holes I just mentioned? And Tagon did not forgive her? Whatever happened to him, Taealha had very little to contribute to that. Just bcz things eventually ended up where he did not want to go, does not mean it's her fault. She trusted in him way too many times for that. And what her father said to her - that Tagon will not share power - how was that enough to sway her? The guy is a compulsive liar and says whatever suits him. Tagon promised Mihol safety on account of him helping Tagon get out of the trial, Mihol behind his back did everything to stop that. It was by chance that Tanya turned out to be an actual seer. Then this shithole was surprised that Tagon went back on his promise. Let's count the leverages Tagon have on Taealha. None. On the other hand, Taealha knows the most damaging secret about him. Tagon was in no way betraying her. Not enough for her to instantly turn into a rival after such a long journey together (and fgs, if she wanted to save her father she could do that too. She blackmailed Tagon anyway🙄). It just doesn't make sense, this isn't the only instance. You have to suspend all kinds of disbelief to watch this show. My point in asking the question was to see how other people found this complete incoherence, not to see how they defend it.

Exactly my point. Taealha was never quite that important as a political piece, Tagon wanted to have whatever was coming with her bcz he loved her. Same was for her. He made no promises of keeping the Hae tribe safe, and why should he? Mihol would keep plotting no matter what considering his track record and all the other tribe leaders were killed and suppressed too (in fact why wasn't he at that cemetery to listen to Tagon's confession?) Plus Taealha could've just had a talk with him. Why was she so enraged? Her father deserved to be locked up long before. She could've convinced Tagon how unwise Saya is, tbh why does she feel the need to keep anything from Tagon? She knows his deep dark secret; he can at least have one. Her anger does not make sense. And her dad's noble death was literally inedible-_- Tagon is emotional, after a certain point everything he did was about hiding who he is, there was nothing shrewd about him. So idk why she took it so hard, betraying her tribe and betraying her isn't the same. Her tribe was betraying him all along, it's getting back at the most. And all these happened in days after risking her life to save him from the Shahatiis. Why would she even let Saya get into this equation? Where tf was she? It simply doesn't make sense, it was a U turn that had no build up, no logic - neither political nor emotional.
Oh yes, I also miss the Chaeeun from season 1. She really shone, even with her limited screen time. I also liked…
God I just remembered how much I hated him. His actions made 0 sense. In the span of an episode, he betrayed Eunseom like thrice (that too by staging a fall in front of a raging bear so he could stab him?🙄) But to have him as his trusted ally to convey the contrast and the history between them, yeah, I'd have liked the previous actor.
I'm so disappointed by SSK. I'm not fond of the plot, it was only watchable bcz the acting is good and she ruins this last redeeming point. She met ES after 8 years and LJG goes to lengths to bring out the intensity of the moment, and her expression is just so underwhelming-_- I mean, she should be taken aback that Saya suddenly hugged her, the annoyance was reminiscent of a previous hug (but did nothing change between them in 8 years?) but the moment he reveals that he's Eunseom shouldn't she be more shocked, sadder, happier, more worried, more of everything really? Shouldn't her entire body react? I was so sad seeing how the scene ended bcz the beginning was pretty epic.
I’m having difficulty watching this cause I have forgotten the whole story line of the first season and I just…
It's not that important, there's a catch-up animated intro that fills you up, character details show up at the bottom. Unless you're too prickly about remembering every detail this should work. The story's not worth a rewatch even if we live 200 years-_-
they did not become foe out of nowhere though. lack of trust ingrained deep inside since the begining of their…
No seriously what trust issue? She wanted him to be a king more than he wanted to be one. Her dad is a literal shitball (at least Tagon's dad said sorry, Mihol acted righteous till the end as if making his own daughter a spy who sells sex is nothing-_-) and in death he's suddenly good? And why wasn't Taealha there when Tagon's infection worsened? She was always around before (as if they lived together), in that crucial af time it's Saya who looks after him? Weird. We all know why they had to get into a power struggle out of nowhere, Tagon doesn't have anyone else against him. So they forced her to be one-_- By all means, Tanya was a better candidate, but to do that they'd need to use a few braincells. They still did not explain who that random guy in the Asa shrine was who hummed Tagon's tune which so conveniently convinced Taealha to side with Tagon in the trial. The writing is seriously bad. And I thought it got better this season, but it's not even epi 5 and the show's falling in its old track-_-
The only actress I really miss is the one who played Chaeeun. I liked her, she brought a presence for her small screentime.
I'm only reminded of Ji Won bcz Sae Kyeong is so lacking in expression for Tanya's character (her chemistry with Eunseom too is a little off bcz of that-_-). And little bit of Song Joon Ki in Saya, I mean LJG is good (I dream of him playing an antihero), but I liked the undercurrent of psychotic madness in the more subtle, low voiced Saya. And as blown off as I was by the first two episodes, at episode 5 this show is back to its stupid old track of unbelievably bad writing.
This Wahan tribe is literally the most disgusting people. This Mung Tae, Tanya's dad - worst part is she never points out how fucked up her tribe is. She just listens with half shocked teary eyes...🙄 When she should be shocked and dumbfounded and angry beyond herself.
Like very bad decision. The drama has the opportunity to become of the best in kdrama. But some cast change spoilt…
I love Joon Gi (practically the reason why I got into the show), but Shin Sae Kyoung was just too bland, all this drama has is acting, it just can't survive her I feel like-_-
Why did Tagon and Taealha become foes out of nowhere at the end of the first season? Taealha's dad is one of the shittiest guys in the show (and that's smth cz all the characters are doing smth awful when they have time🙄) and he deceived Tagon, wanted to kill him, still came out unharmed, Tagon was distraught from killing a bunch of people...then he made that Mungtae dude literally crush a bunch of people in court, then suddenly he became king (to me his eyes looked dead from grief, to Mihol they looked like Wang's eyes🙄). Suddenly he's with Saya, he wants the secret of Hae tribe. But what's so wrong with that? They could still get married, rule together. Exactly what made them enemies? So much so, they literally fought for 8 years...what exactly did they want? Eliminate each other? And Tagon keeps saying they're the type to save their own skin, but Taealha risked her life quite a few times to save him...these stupid inconsistencies, and then building really tense scenes out of these flimsy stuff...drains me.
Idk how to rate this at this point. The first 15 episodes were so good...I couldn't comprehend how they ended up ruining it. I've been waiting for the drag that others warned off with a fearful heart hoping that it's untrue...but...-_- The locations, visual and especially the music is stunning. I really loved the Sleepy Hollow vibe of the supernatural mystery and scenic horse rides in the marshes. Also, Lee Joon Gi sported some really pretty hanboks in this show. The leads are charming. Their bickering was literally the heart of the show. I loved how playful Kim Eun Ho is and how straight forward and absolutely cute Arang is. Because I was expecting it, I even bore through the imperfect later episodes, but they literally fucked this amazing show up in the last episode. If it didn't have that last 4 redeeming minutes at the end, I'd have cried about my bad judgement. It was still better than the vampire show, I think. I wish Lee Joon Gi gets to be in a drama where I can't complain about the plot even if I make it my mission. The guy deserves it, a career defining stellar work. 8/10 feels like a lot but it's for originality and really nice acting by the leads.
Well, just my opinion but i think its a great series. Very innovative with the bronze era issues. But i really…
Thank you. I think I'll give it a go. I fast forwarded through the first 4 episodes; I get the intricacy part you mentioned. My qualm with the plot is that they could just make a fantasy drama, why'd they have to bring historical, geological epochs into it? Makes it a little stupid imo but whatever I guess. The acting and tone wasn't bad and you're liking this season better so why not...I'll get into it. Thanks again:)
it is fantasy, not real so not big deal regarding the fake bronze age.if you enjoy fantasy this should not be…
Thanks. Can't forgive the plot but if the acting is gripping, I'm onboard. I hate bad shows, but what I hate more is when good artists are wasted in bad projects.
Okay I need to know how good this is. I'm stalking Lee Joon Gi, and him in a double role seemed like smth to check out. But 18 hours of season 1 is a big price to pay. I checked the show out, acting is nice but the plot and premise is just ridiculous. This fake af bronze age is hard as a rock to swallow. So, how is this season? I saw people not liking the female lead's acting. Should I waste all that hours of my life to come watch this?
