as a court lady she dont have to deal with unwanted politics... she still has more freedom than a concubine... also she never got the surety from him for which she has to sacrifice everything until the last episode were he for the first time said thankyou to her and was more open to her on where she stands in his life apart from his love for her... when she becomes his concubine her entire life will become about him and she wasnt ready to do that...

Forget fl's being flawed and imperfect... Even the perfect ones get backlash somehow... Out of all the kdramas i have watched, the FL from flower of evil is literally almost perfect and she still got criticised... The ML literally started the relationship on the basis of lies and lied to her for years but she she got criticised for being angry at him after finding out... ๐๐ The one with flaws is out of question...
