I get it if the fl is as annoying and badly written and badly acted as strong girl nam soo or gave emotional scar to someone else because of their own messed up past like in love alarm or lovestruck in the city but hating on random romcom fls for just being happy and chirpy is something I don't get. Kdrama romcoms will have leads acting silly and childish and petty for comic purpose and it's done by all characters regardless of the gender and age but only the female lead will be getting hate from a certain set. Even the fl of strong girl nam soo got more hate for ditching the villain than being plain annoying. 🤣
How did mdl attract viewers who are specialized in hating on fl and actresses and nitpick on everything a female character does but will drool over literally psychopaths and criminals. 🤣

If the fl is boring then the ml is not some interesting character either but it's only the fl and the actress getting criticised and hated. I guess some people are just genetically processed to hate on other women even if it's fictional.
I couldn't recognise naeun at all. When I was watching the drama I was like who is this actress. Never saw her before and now that I checked her filmography she was the second lead from Cinderella and four knights and the one from new face mv. She looks like a completely different person in this.

She is barely doing any aegyo and is herself shown cringing at her younger self. It's a kdrama romcom and everyone acts silly and cute but you only have a problem with the fl. Have you seen how a 34yr old ml who is a big celebrity acts? It's fine for him to be silly and dumb but the fl is annoying. Centuries old goblin and grim reaper acts cute for comic purpose and is loved by everyone.

It released on Netflix after 2 months on selected regions and is in top 10 in most of the countries. That itself says a lot. Netflix got the rights for it as soon as they can and they ain't gonna do it if this drama wasn't popular and loved by a vast majority and they didn't get enough request to have it on Netflix. Also times magazine called it the drama of the year and I am pretty sure it's much more relevant that any reviews in mdl. It also has an 8.7 IMDb rating with majority of the reviews being positive only.
