When she got caught by the police i think at start he also thought she stole but seeing his parents reaction he understood she didn't do it... He talked to his parents to withdraw the case but his parents were not ready... They didn't wanted to give a share of their property to a random girl... Exactly... Even if she was a brat she only screamed at her own mother out of frustration and never went on hurting others or even thought of it... Jenny has been bullying her longer than the rest and she still stood up for Jenny only because Jenny showed some sympathy towards her when she was alone... She chose to remember that one act of goodness from Jenny over all the bad things Jenny did to her... In S2 she even regrets being a brat to her mother whereas none of the other kids( except Jenny and to a level seokhoon) regrets getting a girl almost killed...

Why would rich people waste their time on banning a kdrama because some knetz were unhappy with it? This is not the only drama where knetz were not happy with some aspects of a show... The producers of JE, sponsors and the channel it airs also come under rich and influential people of that country...
You have to watch it yourself to decide whether you like it or not... Some episodes are creepier than most fantasy kdramas we are used to and it has a lot of korean mythology... It will be hard to understand if we don't Google it because the drama don't explain it much... It's like only Koreans will get some of the references... Also if any of the main character is gonna die in the season finale I think it will be a permanent death as the writer is not gonna use the same trick 3 times in a row...

Korea is a democratic country with a strong sns... If a vast majority wanted the drama to continue then they would voice it out like how the minorities are voicing their opinion... Everything is happening online... So anyone can state their opinion... Also companies like samsung or hyundai don't have to care about what a small fraction of minorities think about a drama they are sponsoring... If it wasn't that big of a deal they wouldn't have backed out from sponsoring the drama... Nobody is gonna boycott samsung or lg or hyundai as these people literally run the entire country and its next to impossible to not buy there products... the drama is produced by giants like lotto and YG... They are fully capable of sweeping the problem under the rug if they want to if the so called controversy was something they can handle or not big of a deal... It's not thay hard for huge conglomerates to downplay the complaints of a 'small vocal minority'... Those sponsors and producers has invested a lot of money in the project... 80% of the drama is already filmed and these producers already invested all their money into the product... They would have solved it if it was a small problem like many kdramas that faced some criticism from knetz but still managed to have a successful run... Even goblin and king eternal monarch faced criticism and these are also high budget dramas but neither they lost sponsors not this amount of petition was filed against the drama... If 185k+ people can file a petition online to ban the drama then 200k+ people can file a petition to continue the drama if a vast majority don't support the ban... nobody is gonna search for these people and question their choices... You dont have proof to back up your claim that a vast majority of Koreans want to see that drama and don't feel offended by the portrayal of their historical figures...
