if the lead couple couldnt attract the viewers then blame it on bad writing and no chemistry... not on another character and people who like that character...
startup is not the only drama where audience had SLS but other dramas managed to make the leads shine as much as the SL... if that didnt happen in startup then the fault lies with the makers and not the audience...
the drama didnt manage to get enough rating in korea and it created buzz online mainly because of the fanwar and people getting obsessed with hjp/kim seon ho... if it wasnt for the hjp v/s dosan or SLS then nobody would have cared when this drama started and when it finished like ROY...

the drama was boring after ep 6-7 and i finished watching it simply because i liked being in this comment section and wanted to participate here and to see kim seon ho's acting...

dosan is not a complicated character... he is simply a badly written character... the male lead from iontbo is a complicated character, the male lead from the flower of evil is a complicated character.... dosan is just a badly written character and thats why he failed to get the attention of a majority of the viewers... if he was played by an actor with no dedicated fan following then dosan would have been an even lesser popular character...

i was stopping myself from watching it and now it seems like i have to watch it to see ksh...
he is playing th ex... just hope he isnt playing a jerk...

Even though ksh has done male lead roles before startup he wasn't playing male lead in big productions... He wasn't big enough of a name before startup to get ML roles in big projects like startup...it's the same for second leads from cloy, tkem and goblin... All the guys have done lead roles before being second leads in dramas with such big production value... They got more exposure and popularity after playing second leads in these big projects than being male leads in smaller productions... It's easier to get international popularity by being in dramas with hallyu stars...

I agree that love triangle is not necessary... They could have simply made hjp not get involved b/w dodal and the story could have been still the same or atleast ended the triangle before tha leap and let hjp an dalmi be good friends after the leap... They dragged it unnecessarily...
School 2017 had two male leads and a female lead but it didn't had any love triangle even though the FL had more scenes with the second lead than hjp had with dalmi...
Just because there are 2 male leads doesn't mean they have to fall for the female lead

I guess the only kdrama I have watched with middle aged actors as leads will be skycastle and it was good...
I have seen some scenes from twotm and it's too much negativity for me... It seems like the drama that will make your blood boil because of evil bitchy characters...

3m ate up 13.6m alive for 2 whole months..

I like suspense thrillers and watched some suspense thriller kdramas back to back but when I watched extracurricular I wasn't in the mood to watch something that intense... But I watched kingdom S1 and 2 withing 2-3 days...
I wanted to watch mr.queen but it's not on Netflix... Viki takes too long for subbed version...

I watched you drive me crazy after seeing him in 100days my prince.. that was a nice short drama...

ga young is a former child artist... thats why you have seen her forever...
seon ho looks younger than his age as well as he has been in the kdrama industry just for 3 yrs... so he looks fresh and new for the audience... he started doing dramas after he was 30...

true... the only worth netflix original ongoing drama was its okay to not be okay...
kingdom is also amazing.... i only watched the first 2 episdoes of extracurricular and it was good but i was not in the mood to watch that much dark drama... might resume sometimes along the line..

the last two kdramas i watched on netflix mainly because it was on netflix were roy and startup so the third time i will be extremely cautious... i will only watch runon if it maintains a good review atleast for the first 10 episodes...

the comment section is the only reason why i didnt drop this drama... i lost interest around ep 7-8 but i watched all the 10 episdoes in a go and watched the rest of the episodes every week just to be part of the comment section....

the biggest downfall of this drama is that majority felt the same as you...

80% of the 24k comments are all about the explanation you need... if you have time to kill go and read all of those comments..

i might also give run on a try after seeing its review... its on netflix and im siwan has a pretty decent filmography and is also a decent actors as well...
i have only seen shin se kyung in bride of the habaek( which i completed just for the sake of it) and rookie historian which i dropped after the first half... both the time she wasnt the reason i didnt like the drama even though i have heard she is heavily criticized for her acting...
i am also not familiar with the rest of the cast...

i watched s1 when it was onair and the first few episodes were hilarious... in some scenes i laughed till my stomach ached...
seon ho and the landlady scenes are hilarious... s2 also has some hilarious scenes but dont match upto s1... but s1 started getting draggy when the makers and channel decided to extend the number of episodes... it was supposed to be a 16 ep drama but got extended to 20 due to its unexpected popularity...

i have no plan to watching true beauty... after 2-3 dramas of cha eun woo i decided to stay far away from his dramas... i like moon ga young but not enough to bare with CEW

i also watched waikiki 2 for ksh but s1 was more hilarious...
but i liked his pairing with moon ga young.... they dont look like they have a 10yr age gap...
