i also hated mms... i guess its among the very few dramas i gave very low rating... BR was shot in a different way than most kdrama rom-coms and i appreciate them for that... if it wasnt for the controversy and complaints i guess it would have been more quirky and goofy because the initial episodes were shot really well... also it is one of the few dramas that showed good and bad side of almost all the characters which made every character real... its not among my favorite dramas but it definitely didnt deserve all the backlash and hate it received... even the fiery priest was shot in a different way... the difference is FP worked among the audience and BR didnt... jcw and kyj had way better chemistry than jcw had with yoona and mms costar esp considering jcw' character didnt show his usual romantic style... his chemistry with kyj wasnt as good as his chemistry with nam ji hyun or ha ji won or park min young but it wasnt bad or unwatchable either ... they both are decent actors so they had a natural chemistry even without much romantic scenes and the age gap is not at all visible... she looks like 21 and jcw looks younger than his age... i guess jcw has reached a position were he can experiment as an actor and its okay if he fails one or two times... he want to widen his range and thats totally fine... gong yoo and hyun bin also had a slump after coming back from the military and look at them now...
BTW, can someone recommend a 2020 drama on Netflix that doesn't have a love triangle?I watched the first 30 minutes…
i liked 18 again but it kind of has a love triangle but its not severe... hospital playlist is amazing if you like slice of life dramas... i also liked flower of evil and iotnbo but i read you dont like dark themed dramas... tale of the nine tailed is a fantasy thriller but its darker than other fantasy kdramas like goblin or hotel del luna but lee dong wook and kim bum is irresistibly hot in it...
365 repeat the year and memorist are also good but again they are suspense thrillers...
i think 2020 didnt had much good light hearted dramas... kdramas are getting away from their usual light hearted rom-coms...
i just hope people wont rate this drama 1 or 2 just because HJP didnt get dalmi... if its based on not liking the story then its fine but just dont do that only because HJP didnt end up with dalmi... the drama always inclined towards dalmi-dosan endgame even though their relationship isnt worth to be the lead relationship...

i guess you expected more because DH was played by jcw who is famous for his supercool macho characters... as someone who wasnt even a fan of jcw when i started watching BR, it took me 6-7 episodes to settle with the fact that DH is a simply ordinary guy with nothing special or extraordinary about him... even at the last episode i though he will go back to his k2 mode and hit the shit out of those guys... i never even imagined he will get knocked out in a second... lol

jcw's character in empress ki is the perfect example of how an unlikable character can become likable because of the actor's portrayal of that character... he was cowardly, spineless and useless in more than half of the drama and he even turns a bit crazy and negative towards the end but the audience were still sympathetic towards him which dosan couldnt manage to do even though dosan is a way better guy than emperor ki... in empress ki also the other guy was uptight, smart, and manly like HJP but got overshadowed by emperor ki... also jcw wasnt the jcw of today with a hardcore and crazy fan following wherea as the other lead was more well known at that time... i guess empress ki was the stepping stone towards stardom for him...

injae wouldnt have signed up a contract if she was offered one by alex... she dont want to work under anyone anymore... she is capable enough of getting a job in a company if she wants to... she lived in the US and its pretty obvious she has enough connections to get into a top position in a good company... she didnt care about sst getting that contrct because she never wanted that contract...
dalmi getting job at sst and injae company is basically because both dosan and injae has personal interest in dalmi... it would have made more sense if she went to college in these 3 yrs along as she now has enough money to do so... dalmi's character is so loosely written after ep 4-5... she makes it purely based on other people having personal interest in her... HJP would have mentored any group the same way as he has a record of making any startup he invested in successful but he wouldnt have agreed for dalmi as a CEO if he didnt knew her... anyone with a brain wont put a girl with no experience as the ceo of a company esp to a tech company where she has zero knowledge... from those 461 questions its pretty obvious she didnt know anything about business or investment... he basically taught her like a toddler and the only good thing is dalmi knows that and is thankful to him... unlike the san guys she is ready to accept her shortcomes and take notice of HJP's advices rather than his harsh tone...

there was a poll in allkpop and HJP win with a huge margin... twitter might have different NJH fan pages and those fan pages promote these kind of polls... so even if some NJH are not following the show they will just vote for him... if someone put a poll on MDL its almost obvious who will win it...

i guess i wont watch a drama solely because of NJH but after startup i won't skip a drama because of him either...
i guess we all know why BR didn't have anymore kissing scenes or skinship... the drama got a warning and it was pretty serious... its not like either of the leads had a problem doing kissing scenes and the drama had 2 kissing scenes within 3 episodes... their overall relationship was very healthy after seatbyul passed her crazy infatuation stage... they both gave each other space and they both supported each other when needed... daehyun was already a matured guy who knew what he wanted in life... the only problem he had was his relationship with his gf and he lacked self-confidence both of which he overcame... he was never shown to be an ambitious guy who wanted to make it big and in the last episode he even admitted he just want to have a simple life like his parents... he didnt needed any character development... he is one of the most realistic male lead... the kind of guy you can find in your neighbourhood...

till ep 10 i thought dalmi-dosan had 90% chance but after ep 12 and preview of ep 13 i am 98% sure dalmi-dosan are endgame... i only hope that they dont ruin HJP in the process of reuniting those highschool puppies...
