i guess they wrote it with dosan as the male lead and wanted him to be the unconventional kdrama lead like the ML from camellia blooms but somehow HJP stole the show... the makers might have thought that since NJH is way more popular than KSH, audience will root for dosan no matter what but it backfired... for the last 2-3 episodes HJP is not even getting much screen-time and he is still getting more popular by each passing episode... they might have not expected that KSH's acting will overshadow literally everything in the drama... even though KSH is good-looking, he exactly isnt the macho or chocolaty kind of actor that international fans gets obsessed with... so the makers might have thought dosan wont be overshadowed by HJP... i guess if dosan was played by someone as big as kim soo hyun or lee minho who have immensely crazy fan following, then no matter how good HJP's characterization and kim seonho's acting was, dosan would have still got the support of majority of the audience... even though NJH is popular than kim seonho his popularity is mainly due to his goodlooks than his acting skills... he did improve a lot from what i have seen of him from weightlifting fairy and bride of haebok but he isnt in a stage where he can make an unattractive character attractive solely with his acting skills...
