i support male and female actors equally as well but its kind of true that male actors and characters can literally get away with anything whereas female actors get judged way too hard.
BR itself is a good example.. the kind of backlash SB's character got.. she havent dont anything half problematic things as some beloved male characters have done.. just take bof as example, the male lead is an actual bully, has forcefully kissed the fl, dont respect the fl's privacy, is dumb af and has done a lot of questionable things. but all these are justified because he has an evil mother.. SB works her ass off, is supporting her younger sister and fights only when she is wronged but got called a sexual harasser, home breaker etc..
even a certain amount of people couldnt handle the female lead of IOTNBO even though she has a legit reason for what she does. if the roles were reversed then ko moon young will be a stereotypical asian male lead and everyone would have been comfortable watching a male character being emotionless and he dont even need a disorder to justify his behaviour..
since i am not that invested in real life controversies of korean actors i dont have example for actors. but there is plenty of double standards for male and female actors in my country. i have heard a couple of kpop idol stuff but i only follow exo and dont know much about kpop as a whole.. but its pretty obvious kpop female idols have it lot more harder than kpop male idols like they get jugded harder for the way they behave and the clothes they wear..

but those tortures are not doing anything for him.. he will experiance torture when she kickes him out.. DH takes after his mother but is not loud like his mother so everyone takes him less seriously than his mother. his mother atleast is vocal about her displeasure even though she endure it anyway..

fangirls.. when a drama or movie gets successful female audience tend to be more in love with the male actors for obvious reasons.. also rom-coms and kdramas dont have much male audience. if there is any kind of comparison b/w the male and female leads then some obsessed fangirls will go to any extend to support the male actor..
if the viewers supported the actors regardless of their gender then the successful female actors would have earned as much as male actors.

she was always quit respectful towards ST. even when KT is not around she was good to him. so she wasnt good to ST just coz she wanted to attract KT.

when a rom-com drama or movie gets super popular its obvious that the male lead gets more popular than the female lead even if the fl is more talented.. thats a sad reality and the reason for that is women themselves.

almost all of the famous kdramas like coffee prince, secret garden etc had super rich guy and super poor girl but were still way better than bof.
i was a teenager when i watched bof and still couldnt stand that drama. even as an adult i dont really mind if there is some level of illogical and unreal story line. the reason why i dont have any problem with BR is i dont use my brain and logic while watching it. but bof was way too much for me. from cringy acting to unrealistic storyline. there was literally nothing in that show.

in korea it might be 1.movie actors 2.drama actors 3. idols but outside korea its the other way around. even if koreans look down on idols and drama actors they wont deny the fact that drama actors and idols leads the korean wave. they bring in more outside money into korean economy than movie actors.
suzy is an idol turned actor who is 25 and Kim hyesoo is a professional actress who is 49 yrs old. her whole career might be longer than Suzy's age. there is no comparison. they both are never gonna be considered for the same role. they both belong to an entirely different generation.
suzy can be compared to actors of her age and there are actresses who are more popular than her and even though she is popular she is never known to be a good actress.

i am not a fan of lmh at all.. infact i hated all the 3 dramas i have seen of him.. but just because i am not a fan of lmh i cannot deny the fact that he is one of the most popular korean celebrities.. i started liking jcw and ksh only after watching BR and IOTNBO and that is like a month ago.. but i always knew these guys were very popular and one of the top hallyu stars.. i took KSH's name specifically not because i am a big fan of him but because he has been in the news recently for being among the richest korean celebrity. he was paid more than hyun bin who has done way more movies than him.
i never said korean movie stars dont make money or makes lesser money. all i want to say is internationally kdrama actors enjoy a lot more fan following and stardom than kmovie actors.. kdramas and kpop contribute more to the hallyu wave than kmovies even though every movie buff around the world would appreciate how good kmovies are. netflix, worlds biggest streaming site, has more kdramas than kmovies because the demand for kdramas are way higher.

if you type the most popular korean actors on google, LBH wont be on the list and the list will be filled with kdrama actors with LMH topping the list. so kdramas and kmovies both are equally big in their own ways. infact korean entertainment industry will be one of the few where both movies and dramas are equally loved by everyone.

LBH has a career way longer than KSH and even did hollywood movies and if KSH still manages to get almost as much as LBH then he is doing way too well with his career. his last movie bombed at the box office and didnt had any kdrama for 5 yrs and still managed to be the highest paid actor.
all those actors you named has twice the experience as KSH and he still manages to be one of the top actors in korea because of his international popularity. i guess the only reason lee min ho falls behing KSH is because to his not-so-good acting.. even jcw can easily surpass lmh if he chose the write script.. if LMH was a good actor he would have easily be no.1... there is one thing i like about korean audience, eventhough they are way too obsessed with physical appearance they wont spend their money on movies just to see pretty faces.. cha eun woo might have be the talk of the town for his face but he is not capable enough of carrying an entire show with his acting.. thats why even after being so popular lmh dont have any successful movies to his credit..

the leads had good chemistry and i enjoyed the drama till the big plot twist. the only problem is the female lead from no angle looks like a young 21 yr old. she clearly looks close to 30.

an actor becomes an A-lister by climbing up. so who knows through this movie sam worthington might become an A-lister. tobey maguire used to be an A-lister back in the days but is hardly getting any work now. it all depends on the boxoffice and movie selection.. only very few actors who created a legacy of their own will remain an A-lister forever like richard gear, tom cruise, brad pitt, rober downy jr, leonardo dicaprio etc. even if brad pitt or rdj dont do a movie for the next 3-4 yrs they will still have loyal fan following and people will rush into the theaters to watch their movies if it is good.
memories of the alhambra is a 2018 drama and not that old. the problem with park shin hye is she always have this gloomy look going on. so all her characters look the same because she always look the same.

i have only seen a couple of anime movies.. never that into animes but i have friends who are anime crazy.
i really dont get whats so attractive in BOF story from any angle. i though my dislike for bof was only for the korean version and tried watching the latest chinese version, meteo garden and still hated it.. the lead guy is way too dumb, arrogant and the girl is too dumb and a cry baby.. i cannot watch a drama if the leads are so bad. heirs is also similar.. dont get the hype behind these dramas.

MY's mother had a violent nature and its shown that caregivers and nurses have to deal with physical violence while handling the patients. a person with a violent nature wont be able to bare all those abuses for so long. they will get back at the abuser directly or indirectly.
also the nurse is very normal with MY's father. he might have dementia but he is clearly capable of recognizing the mother. he seemed to have been obsessed with the mother.
