anyone with whom i had a conversation about bof has said they hated it.. lol so where are the people who liked it? not just the fl even the 2nd ml was rapped in controversies.. i guess only lmh got the full advantage of bof's polularity. when a rom-com drama or movie gets super popular its obvious that the male lead gets more popular than the female lead even if the fl is more talented.. thats a sad reality and the reason for that is women themselves.

almost all of the famous kdramas like coffee prince, secret garden etc had super rich guy and super poor girl but were still way better than bof. i was a teenager when i watched bof and still couldnt stand that drama. even as an adult i dont really mind if there is some level of illogical and unreal story line. the reason why i dont have any problem with BR is i dont use my brain and logic while watching it. but bof was way too much for me. from cringy acting to unrealistic storyline. there was literally nothing in that show.

in korea it might be 1.movie actors 2.drama actors 3. idols but outside korea its the other way around. even if koreans look down on idols and drama actors they wont deny the fact that drama actors and idols leads the korean wave. they bring in more outside money into korean economy than movie actors. suzy is an idol turned actor who is 25 and Kim hyesoo is a professional actress who is 49 yrs old. her whole career might be longer than Suzy's age. there is no comparison. they both are never gonna be considered for the same role. they both belong to an entirely different generation. suzy can be compared to actors of her age and there are actresses who are more popular than her and even though she is popular she is never known to be a good actress.

i am not a fan of lmh at all.. infact i hated all the 3 dramas i have seen of him.. but just because i am not a fan of lmh i cannot deny the fact that he is one of the most popular korean celebrities.. i started liking jcw and ksh only after watching BR and IOTNBO and that is like a month ago.. but i always knew these guys were very popular and one of the top hallyu stars.. i took KSH's name specifically not because i am a big fan of him but because he has been in the news recently for being among the richest korean celebrity. he was paid more than hyun bin who has done way more movies than him. i never said korean movie stars dont make money or makes lesser money. all i want to say is internationally kdrama actors enjoy a lot more fan following and stardom than kmovie actors.. kdramas and kpop contribute more to the hallyu wave than kmovies even though every movie buff around the world would appreciate how good kmovies are. netflix, worlds biggest streaming site, has more kdramas than kmovies because the demand for kdramas are way higher.
i know LBH's scandal with the glam member.
if you type the most popular korean actors on google, LBH wont be on the list and the list will be filled with kdrama actors with LMH topping the list. so kdramas and kmovies both are equally big in their own ways. infact korean entertainment industry will be one of the few where both movies and dramas are equally loved by everyone.

LBH has a career way longer than KSH and even did hollywood movies and if KSH still manages to get almost as much as LBH then he is doing way too well with his career. his last movie bombed at the box office and didnt had any kdrama for 5 yrs and still managed to be the highest paid actor. all those actors you named has twice the experience as KSH and he still manages to be one of the top actors in korea because of his international popularity. i guess the only reason lee min ho falls behing KSH is because to his not-so-good acting.. even jcw can easily surpass lmh if he chose the write script.. if LMH was a good actor he would have easily be no.1... there is one thing i like about korean audience, eventhough they are way too obsessed with physical appearance they wont spend their money on movies just to see pretty faces.. cha eun woo might have be the talk of the town for his face but he is not capable enough of carrying an entire show with his acting.. thats why even after being so popular lmh dont have any successful movies to his credit..
its 2020 and there are writers who still think its okay to normalise psycho behaviour? the guy cannot be classified as a simple stalker.. he was downright psycho.. even ko moon young from its okay to not be okay seems normal in front of him.. what the guy did can never be justified in any way.. when the guy said he lied about her illness i though he cheated her because he or his grandmother might have been unwell and needed the operation. thats why he did all this but wtf.. he is a young, good-looking, super rich guy. she was already impressed with him after the lift on him. she already broke up with her then bf. what the hell was stopping him from approaching her like a normal human being? the guy had the f***ing guts to plan all that and trap her but didnt had the guts to approach a girl like a sane guy?
the leads had good chemistry and i enjoyed the drama till the big plot twist. the only problem is the female lead from no angle looks like a young 21 yr old. she clearly looks close to 30.
I'm on episode 7 and the FL's younger sister has to be the most ungrateful and selfish person. What a ?!$&@
she is nothing in front of DH's father and sister.. atleast FL's sister is young and she thinks that once she succeed she will be able to give a good life to the FL.

isnt the highest paid actor kim so hyun and he became the highest paid for his per episode earning for iotnbo? also the more popular you are the more commercials you get. commercials are a big way of income. an actor becomes an A-lister by climbing up. so who knows through this movie sam worthington might become an A-lister. tobey maguire used to be an A-lister back in the days but is hardly getting any work now. it all depends on the boxoffice and movie selection.. only very few actors who created a legacy of their own will remain an A-lister forever like richard gear, tom cruise, brad pitt, rober downy jr, leonardo dicaprio etc. even if brad pitt or rdj dont do a movie for the next 3-4 yrs they will still have loyal fan following and people will rush into the theaters to watch their movies if it is good. memories of the alhambra is a 2018 drama and not that old. the problem with park shin hye is she always have this gloomy look going on. so all her characters look the same because she always look the same.

i split my time b/w kdramas and kmovies with a pinch of thai, chinese and japanese here and there.. lol i tried watching dark on netflix.. i got bored after s1. its too confusing to keep up.. i have only seen a couple of anime movies.. never that into animes but i have friends who are anime crazy. i really dont get whats so attractive in BOF story from any angle. i though my dislike for bof was only for the korean version and tried watching the latest chinese version, meteo garden and still hated it.. the lead guy is way too dumb, arrogant and the girl is too dumb and a cry baby.. i cannot watch a drama if the leads are so bad. heirs is also similar.. dont get the hype behind these dramas.
she is a head nurse at a psychiatric ward for years.its pretty obvious that MY's mother was not mentally stable.…
MY's mother had a violent nature and its shown that caregivers and nurses have to deal with physical violence while handling the patients. a person with a violent nature wont be able to bare all those abuses for so long. they will get back at the abuser directly or indirectly. also the nurse is very normal with MY's father. he might have dementia but he is clearly capable of recognizing the mother. he seemed to have been obsessed with the mother.

cable channels make money by selling their dramas to other countries and international streaming sites. so thats why i said they also take international viewers into account. as i said korean movies are class of their own and have been critically acclaimed all over the world but korean movie actors dont enjoy the same stardom like kdrama actors outside korea. i personally started watching korean movies and then later on started watching kdramas. spellbound and the classic were one of the early korean movies i watched so i was also familiar with son yejin but if we consider the popularity before cloy then park shin hye would definitely be more popular than son yejin outside Korea as she is more of a movie actress. boys over flowers and lee min ho were the main reasons why i stayed away from kdramas for a long time even though i loved watching Korean movies. i watched bof as everyone in my hostel was going gaga over it and i couldn't even complete half of the drama. the story was so weak along with the acting. it was among the top kdramas and i though all kdramas will be like that. so i never bothered to check out kdramas but somehow ended up watching the newer ones and liked them. i dont think there is anything more overrated than bof.
she is a head nurse at a psychiatric ward for years. its pretty obvious that MY's mother was not mentally stable. do you think someone who is mentally unstable be able to be a head nurse at a psychiatric hospital and that too with doctors who are specialized in mental health? the director of the hospital is a pretty smart guy even though he dont act smart. he clearly can sense whats wrong with MY by the first meeting itself. the head nurse has been working there for some time now and he could have caught her is she wasnt normal.

i dont know much about the difference in cable channel and local channel content but from what i have observed cable channels like tvn does shows that appear to the international audience as well whereas the sbs, kbs etc are solely focused on the korean audience. take BR for example.. the parody and most of the comedy can be understood well only by korean audience.. they refer to very old korean movies which international audience are not familiar with. i havent seen world of the married so i didnt get the imaginary fight scene b/w YJ and SB was a parody..
even though korean movies are a class of their own, kmovie actors dont enjoy the same stardom like hit kdrama actors outside korea.. lee min ho( who is below avg in acting) was way more famous than gong yoo before train to busan and goblin. even now LMH has a bigger fanbase than gong yoo outside korea. even kdramas seems to have more budget than kmovies. so investing time on kdramas is not actually a waste of time. look at son ye-jin. she is a wonderful actress and can eat-up more than half of the popular kdrama actresses but it took her to be a part of a successful kdrama to have international fame. before cloy, majority of the international fans would recoqnize park shin hye over son yejin.
JCW and KYJ might not be gods of acting but they both are pretty good actors. and the main reason why BR is having any viewership.
so where are the people who liked it?
not just the fl even the 2nd ml was rapped in controversies.. i guess only lmh got the full advantage of bof's polularity.
