cable channels make money by selling their dramas to other countries and international streaming sites. so thats why i said they also take international viewers into account.
as i said korean movies are class of their own and have been critically acclaimed all over the world but korean movie actors dont enjoy the same stardom like kdrama actors outside korea. i personally started watching korean movies and then later on started watching kdramas. spellbound and the classic were one of the early korean movies i watched so i was also familiar with son yejin but if we consider the popularity before cloy then park shin hye would definitely be more popular than son yejin outside Korea as she is more of a movie actress.
boys over flowers and lee min ho were the main reasons why i stayed away from kdramas for a long time even though i loved watching Korean movies. i watched bof as everyone in my hostel was going gaga over it and i couldn't even complete half of the drama. the story was so weak along with the acting. it was among the top kdramas and i though all kdramas will be like that. so i never bothered to check out kdramas but somehow ended up watching the newer ones and liked them. i dont think there is anything more overrated than bof.

she is a head nurse at a psychiatric ward for years.
its pretty obvious that MY's mother was not mentally stable.
do you think someone who is mentally unstable be able to be a head nurse at a psychiatric hospital and that too with doctors who are specialized in mental health?
the director of the hospital is a pretty smart guy even though he dont act smart. he clearly can sense whats wrong with MY by the first meeting itself. the head nurse has been working there for some time now and he could have caught her is she wasnt normal.

i dont know much about the difference in cable channel and local channel content but from what i have observed cable channels like tvn does shows that appear to the international audience as well whereas the sbs, kbs etc are solely focused on the korean audience. take BR for example.. the parody and most of the comedy can be understood well only by korean audience.. they refer to very old korean movies which international audience are not familiar with. i havent seen world of the married so i didnt get the imaginary fight scene b/w YJ and SB was a parody..

even though korean movies are a class of their own, kmovie actors dont enjoy the same stardom like hit kdrama actors outside korea.. lee min ho( who is below avg in acting) was way more famous than gong yoo before train to busan and goblin. even now LMH has a bigger fanbase than gong yoo outside korea. even kdramas seems to have more budget than kmovies. so investing time on kdramas is not actually a waste of time. look at son ye-jin. she is a wonderful actress and can eat-up more than half of the popular kdrama actresses but it took her to be a part of a successful kdrama to have international fame. before cloy, majority of the international fans would recoqnize park shin hye over son yejin.

JCW and KYJ might not be gods of acting but they both are pretty good actors. and the main reason why BR is having any viewership.

also his kiss from the movie perfect proposal.. he was so sexy in that movie and the kiss was really steamy..

DH also comes quit close to SB while they talking. they both are naturally comfortable with it.
just coz she used please dont mean she was requesting and after last episode i dont think YJ can be excused for her closeness with her childhood friend boss. it seems like she was keeping him close as plan B. she never outright told him to stop and she herself goes and talks about her relationship with a guy who clearly said he wont back out.
she started spying on her boyfriend right after she came to know the part timer is a girl. she gets annoyed that DH left her on a date but has multiple times ditched him for her work.

oppa has the self countrol of a saint.. he wont give in that easily.. but when he does i am pretty sure it will be worth the wait or else i will smack his head with the stone MY threw away today..

park hyung sik + park bo young- the way he looks at her is more romantic than their kissing scenes.

YYS's kiss in dr.kim is one of the best in kdrama land without any doubt. have seen his kisses in some of the movies and its hotter..

i think most people are not liking this drama because of high expectations from the leads.
i started watching it solely coz i liked the trailer and fiery priest director. even though i am familiar with the leads and have seen one drama each of both of them i wasn't exactly a fan when i started watching it so i didnt had much expectations from them or the show. the trailer and the same director as fiery priest were my main attraction and by the first episode itself i got the genre they are aiming at. this show should be watched without looking for logic.
however, after i did some research aka stalking on jcw i got it why his fans are disappointed with the drama. he has always been the alpha male and in here, basically, anyone can walk all over him. he has nothing heroic or special about him. he is just a simple good-hearted guy who lacks self- esteem. something anyone can relate to. i guess the only thing in him that stands out is his good looks. guys like him get emotionally played by girls pretty easily.. after watching some clips from K2 and healer i also kind of felt awkward watching him in this role. he does have a very strong screen presence and appearance.
the drama might not be the best but using words like sexual harassment, paedophilia, sexist etc are too harsh on the show. i seriously dont get the backlash over the age gap b/w the leads. there are tons of dramas out there where the girl is way younger than the guy. here at least the age gap is not prominent. JCW hardly looks too old for KYJ. the male leads from find me in your memory and radio romance looked too old for the female leads and the female leads didnt had the kind of matured looks like KYJ. i never heard any problem with those shows.
watch it as a simple rom-com without any expectations and you will like it. its same as touch your heart. there is nothing special about it but is not that bad either.
YJ is neither bad nor good. she does have feelings for DH but is not ready to adjust or sacrifice anything for him. the only good thing she can do to DH is break-up with him and set him free.
i think the makers deliberately showed SB in a negative light for the first 2 episodes to show that girls with background like hers can be easily misunderstood by anyone.. they by each episode are showing how much struggle she has to go through each day.
