Toxic relationship
It started of as cute and fluffy, but when the two leads finally got into a relationship it was just pretty toxic. Whenever they would argue, they would always ignore the actual problem. For example were they both very jealous, but they never talked about their feelings so that the other can atleast comfort them and tell them they're misunderstanding, buy no, no. Instead let just yell the small, petty things we've piled up just for an argument, without getting forward in the relationship. It also felt pretty cliché with the whole rich CEO and poor girl that likes drawing. I watched Cute bodyguard which also has it, but I just liked it more, it was funny.

The only way you'll enjoy this drama is of you just let things happen
I don't even know where to start. First of all, don't watch this if you can't just let things happen. This drama is insensitive to depression, sexual assault and clearly has no knowledge about pregnancy. It's also filled with misogyny.First of all, this has so many plotlines, seemingly just thrown in because the writer realised they needed a scene to happen, but it didn't fit into what he already had. It also sets up tons of things, like Jinchen's identity, Yueyue's identity, the cheating, so many I can't even keep track of them, for it to end in the most flat way possible. For example Yueyue's identity. It drags out all the way to the 20th episode just for her to come right out and say it? Or her sister saying she'll come on the 20th. Since they barely talked about it, I'll just assume that it was at the auction, but no one was concerned when she didn't show up. Or the whole cheating. Realistically speaking, why would she color her hair, be with another guy and then color it back? And when his grandpa said that Yueyue should leave but Siya left instead? Why would Jinchen propose to Yueyue then?
A thing that the drama ALSO seem to not know about is the difference between withholding information and creating curiosity. I have watch 21 episodes and I still barely know what the contract is about. I assume it's that Wen Jinchen and Yuan Siya should get married, and the grandpa also hoped she'd help the company. So when the grandpa found out that Siya was actually Yueyue, why did he want Yueyue to leave? The smartest and best thing for him to do is hire Siya at the company, or sue her dad like he said. Why make her leave? Out of pettiness?
And don't get me started on Jinchen and the pregnancy. I know this is just how China kinda is, but the drama really tries making it so that Jinchen is a wonderful person for not caring whether it's a girl or a boy, like it isn't bare minimum. On the other hand he doesn't ask her about her feelings, how she's feeling physically or make up a plan on how to take care of her work. They also only got one pregnancy test. Even if they did, and they were unsure, they should go to the doctor. Even if they did and it was positive, the doctor would tell them how many weeks in she was. Everyone who's met someone who has been pregnant knows you don't tell people until a certain point due to miscarriage and other things. The grandpa also said the most disrespectful things to her, and he just stood there? And she too acted like it was understandable. Wouldn't you at least be a little mad of being treated like a baby machine?
Also, Jinchen forcibly kissed her, TWO TIMES, and she was only mad that he did it in front of her crush. Jinchen also has a day when he's a "little bit depressed" and she fixes him through food and hugs. If it was that easy, depression wouldn't exist.
The only thing I kinda liked is the sweetness between the main couple. And also, Xiuzhe and Liangye. No one could tell me they weren't flirting throughout the whole drama. Everything they said and did could've been a BL if you just changed a few words. Like Xiuzhe practicing heart shaped omelette for the one he likes, bit instead gives it to Liangye. Liangye saying he can't supervise Xiuzhe because he's not his girlfriend. In a BL the unsaid sentence would be "But you could be my boyfriend". Liangye admitting he had a purpose by being close to Xiuzhe in the beginning, but now he really knows he's a good...friend? That's literally every second romance drama. Sadly, it's a Chinese drama
If you liked the funny colleague vibe, breaking it off sometimes with drama, you'll probably enjoy My boss, a much better drama.

Good
They did a really great job at portraying each other and it just got better as it went. There was only a small thing that bugged me: whenever they would switch bodies, their relationship that they had started to build up together when they were in their own bodies, just disappear whenever they switch to the other person's. There is a scene though when they really make a crazy impressive work in making it feel like they're in each other's bodies, it's amazing. Also, spoiler I guess, the guy gets a period in the girls body. Was this review helpful to you?
