Honestly, who cares about what haters on Douban say? Since season 1, people have been hating anyway. As long as…
Just implying I’m not losing sleep over negativity, and neither should anyone else.
And everyone is free to enjoy what they like without worrying about judgment and also happiness doesn’t need validation from others. Support whoever you want, watch whatever show you like without minding much about others said. ✌️

I’ve seen enough hate posts especially that involved WZQ during season 1. People hoped he wouldn’t make it, but he just keeps moving seamlessly from one project to another. They can hate all they want, but the fact that a rising actor like him barely gets rest because he’s filming almost every day says a lot. 😊
He’s an artist from a small company (previously and now free agent), with no backing at all. His company can’t provide him with any resources—if anything, they even hold him back. Yet he’s managed to get where he is today purely on his own strength.
People still commenting while watching means the drama is still worth it.Otherwise, they’d have dropped it already.…
I don’t get why people compare dramas by saying the male or female lead of this one is “better-looking.” Beauty is subjective, isn’t it? It feels like they’re just picking on actors’ appearances instead of talking about the plot or the story.
Spoilers] Some confirmations and speculations after watching episode 20
After finishing episode 20, some foreshadowing has been resolved. This post mainly covers confirmations and speculations; follow-up posts will update by episode.
1–3. The previously shown shirtless scene of You Chen’an viewed by Chu Chu is foreshadowing that’s now resolved. Chu Chu notices the scars on the fake You Chen’an don’t match. While inspecting the body, she “accidentally” picks up a fingerprint. It doesn’t match the one on the application form, proving the deceased is not You Chen’an. 4. Why Chu Chu presented evidence at court even while poisoned. Leng Yue’s words confirm this: Chu Chu realized she had been pricked with a poisoned needle but forced herself into the palace to present the evidence, giving Prince Jingyi a chance to survive. She had already placed her own life aside. The detail: Leng Yue wraps her arm, with her sleeve rolled up. 5. Some confirmations about the new opening: the first sword seems to belong to Wu Jiang, and the divorce document was written by Yue Jing. 6. Xiao Jinyu deduces from Chu He’s description and the characteristics of sandals that the suspects are Gao Luoqian and Hong Luan. In the drama, Tang people mostly wear boots; sandals are typically foreigners. This matches the hot climate of Southern Zhao, where cooler footwear is practical. 7. A little scheming speculation: Xiao Jinyu deliberately leaks information to Chu He. When Chu He asks if You Chen’an was poisoned, Xiao Jinyu doesn’t outright deny it, seemingly hinting that Chu He is the one behind it.
8–10. When the prince interrogates Gao Luoqian, it’s reminiscent of the first season: the calculating prince following Chu Chu, testing and observing her. He may have the means for a ruthless approach, but where Chu Chu is concerned, he has boundaries he won’t cross. 11. The first episode’s foreshadowing of Southwest Herbal Collection has now been resolved.
12–14. From the Southern Zhao king’s reactions, he doesn’t want to acknowledge You Chen’an and finds excuses to avoid it. According to the episode 24 preview, Yu Lan is likely connected to You Chen’an. At the cave entrance, the Southern Zhao-style guards call Lady Yu Lan — suggesting she is probably You Chen’an’s birth mother. This explains why the Southern Zhao king would rather install the incompetent You Longsheng than make You Chen’an king: You Chen’an’s mother is Tang, so he is mixed-blood, which is taboo for the royal lineage. 15. Unexpectedly, Li Zhang survives by feigning madness. You Chen’an uses hatred to manipulate Li Zhang into serving him. 16. The mystery of why Xiao Jinyu’s diagrams are so similar is finally revealed. Two years ago, Li Zhang had spies in the capital observe Xiao Jinyu’s drawings. From You Chen’an’s gaze, it suggests he either created the diagrams or knows about them. The diagrams were likely drawn by Yu Lan, who may have been a coroner herself but was abandoned, forming a contrast with Chu Chu. 17. You Chen’an’s reactions toward Chu He and Chu Chu are intriguing. 18. New opening blood-stain foreshadowing is resolved. Chu He uses the bloodstain to imprint You Chen’an’s thumb on his white robe. You Chen’an reacts immediately, asking why. This bloodstain is likely to be sent via pigeon back to the pharmacy and seen by Chu Chu. It seems Chu He may die eventually. The lotus root and blood-stained clothes he prepared for Chu Chu are probably foreshadowing as well.
• The crown prince’s guards and subordinates are also killed by insects. You Chen’an intends to stir trouble between Southern Zhao and Tang to kill his brother and seize the throne. Chu Chu will likely infiltrate personally and be captured by You Chen’an, providing a reason for Tang to deploy troops.
Xiao Jinyu is usually gentle, but when it comes to Chu Chu, he completely loses control for love! Xiao Jinyu doesn’t build his character through shouting, craziness, or domineering behavior; he’s normally calm to the point of restraint. Yet all his reason, calculation, and strategy instantly vanish once Chu Chu is involved! He can be schemed against, used, or thrown into the spotlight — but Chu Chu? Never!!!
Be happy you're not reading douban comments. Everyone is getting roasted lol
Honestly, who cares about what haters on Douban say? Since season 1, people have been hating anyway. As long as you enjoy watching, that’s what matters. If you don’t like it, just leave and watch something you do.
Everyone can complain all they want, yet the score for S1 hasn’t budged. So what? 🤣
People still commenting while watching means the drama is still worth it.Otherwise, they’d have dropped it already.…
The Imperial Coroner is a true dark horse: genuinely limited funds, a rookie cast with no traffic stars, questionable props at the start, and barely any promotion. Yet it relied almost entirely on solid script, logic-driven cases, pacing, and ensemble group (not just supportive characters being props for main character to shine, everyone got their own roles to shine) — and still achieved an 8+ Douban score (Douban is full of haters btw) with ~400k raters. Word-of-mouth carried it, slowly building a loyal audience. From this, you can clearly see how strong its reputation is — a rare case of quality and audience trust triumphing over hype, spectacle, or star power.
And now some dramas claim to be “dark horses,” but what kind of dark horse comes with massive promotion, endless hype, and built-in fan traffic? That’s not a dark horse — that’s marketing dressed as one.

I think TIC set the bar way too high for ancient detective dramas. And if you notice, a lot of the hate and complaints actually come from fans of the #that drama 🤣 I keep seeing on YT comments too lol. They must be so pissed off~
