It's the same team from behind Ainori reality show, they have producers on site and they are pretty open about interacting with cast on what locations they will film and so on. So Love Village feels like teamwork between producers and cast to make a great product.
Editing is atrocious, you can feel that silence and awkwardness are being faked. It's like those meme compilations when the conversation is made awkward by editing.
Also what's up with randomly placed reactions of the hosts? Why can't it be 1 segment > reaction of hosts > 2 segment > reaction of the hosts, like in Ainori or Terrace House! That format was perfectly fine.
I was so happy to watch a new jpn reality show, but after episode 1 I wonder if I should continue when I can feel that I'm being spoonfed narrative.
Why everybody is comparing this show to The Glory? Like... Bullying themes k-dramas are persistent, so I have no clue, why The Glory is now your only point of reference. It's different dramas (with different moods) for different audiences.
It was supposed to be a commentary on how badly Koreans deal with disasters, but nope, they needed to make a message about how NOBODY helped Koreans... I wish someday they will create a disaster movie, where they will showcase how incompetent is the Korean government.
