People, this drama has only 2 episodes right now, give it a try. For me it is the type of silly drama that you watch when you don't want to think about anything and just enjoy it. The FL clearly has some issues, that's exactly the point of the drama and it is shown in the first episode. The ML is sweet and gentle, which I adore, just my type of guy. Give it a try, this is fun to watch.
I am just completely lost - please tell me what can I watch to move away from this... I have tried SoKP and Blossom…
I'm watching the Prisoner of beauty and I like it, the ML is not as handsome but is fun to watch because he is head over heels for me FL, and the FL is absolutely gorgeous, not just gorgeous but she is wise beyond her years, she is so smart and can manipulate anyone. She is not strong but she works with her mind.
Guys I need to know, how old is fan changyu and xie zheng in drama canonically? I know Changyu is 19 as Xie Zheng…
I don't know about the novel. But at the end of the drama they show that Xie Zheng was training a lot and he seemed to be 7/8 to me, but she was on her mom's belly. So for me the age gap in the drama is about 8 years tbh. And it just makes sense since he has been fighting for about 10 years when they meet (or that's what he said).
I absolutely loved this drama but I've a complain:
WHY WE DIDN'T GET TO SEE MORE OF PRINCESS AND GONGSUN??? They were so cute and we didn't get to see their wedding or their life together or even a full kiss.
AND WE MUST GET ANOTHER SEASON WITH QING AND BAOER getting togheter!!!!
Sigh! ANOTHER Chinese drama where non-consensual kissing is romanticised. Why do so many Chinese film-makers insist…
I understand your comment comes from the relationship between Qi Min and Qian. However I must say that the point of the drama was exactly to show that he ab*sed her, and she hated him. The writers made sure to say that he was obsessed with her at the end of the drama and he never regretted what he did to her. That was exactly the point of the drama.
Nevertheless, there are some watchers and fans that find him attractive and they are the ones romanticizing that behavior. The contrast of course is the relationship between FL/ML, in that relationship everything was consensual and lovely. He even apologizes from the heart for the first kiss and all of that.
I just binged watch this show in a weekend. I absolutely adore it because I was looking for something lighthearted…
So... Bonhee and Mujin are not together, probably got to know each other and due to distance or age gap, Bonhee posted a video on her channel with him saying they are good noona/dongsaeng friends but nothing more. She made a huge exhibition everyone posted about it but didn't see Mujin. However, he was on her video so I think they are on good terms but not together, and they follow each other on insta.
About Yeonggyeong and Hyeonjun (dentist + chef couple), didn't work out either, they don't even follow each other on insta, she said in a video that if they are together or not: that's a secret. However she posted a video vlog with Sanghyun on a "date" (just as friends). Perhaps the distance didn't work out or as she said, she is such a workaholic that is hard for her to date another person.
Finally, Sohyun and Sanghyun, they follow each other but I see nothing on insta or her vlogs, she usually post a lot, it seems like she travels everywhere but never post about him. On his part, looks like he barely uses insta and he is still anxious 'cuz his comments are off, except for one post he made about Bonhee's exhibition. (Both of them were on Bonhee's exhibition tho).
And it seems like Sohyun and the girls (all of the but more Jiwon) are really good friends which is something that I love for females.
Sadly, I would say not even one couple made it to real life, which is sad. Sanghyun's words at the end were lovely but looks like this guy needs to go to therapy and became more confident for real. He looked so charming on Yeonggyeong's video tho, looks like they are really good friends.
I just binged watch this show in a weekend. I absolutely adore it because I was looking for something lighthearted to watch, instead of another heavy drama. I loved the ending, but I've to confess that at some point I hated Sang Wong and Sanghyun. However, I understand that Sanghyun is literally just a nerd guy with 0 experience in love and a really low self esteem , he needs to work this in some therapy tho. After some research I've to say that I feel a bit disappointed because of the ending couples... gotta put this in another comment under spoiler, I'll give you some updates...
OKay, I Just started this drama today and I couldn't stop watching it. I absolutely adore the FL, she is extremely beautiful and at the same time she is so smart, actually I may say she is wise beyond her age. She knows about politics, strategy and can make anyone do what she wants, and she is a lovely human being, I love her!
I just finished this drama and as a person that has been watching dramas for 16 years already, I'm telling you, this drama is good. There is no reason for evil people and that's the thing, this drama portrays so well the fact that some people are just crazy and in need of blood. Absolutely loved the characters and the ending. The only thing with this drama is that if you fall asleep you are gonna miss all the connections. Every little detail here has a point to be.
in some edits, I've seen some catholic symbolism in some scenes, can someone explain?
Mun Ju's husband was super catholic. She wasn't but she was respectful and at some point she prays to the virgen. I think is a symbolism since the drama talks a lot about life, death, war.
Don't pay attention to the bad reviews and comments, just go and watch it! This drama has become one of my favourites already. Listen, the chemistry between the leads is out of this world, the tension between them was so well executed, their acting was amazing. The villains made me hate them for real. The fact that the main villain was like: "all I want is to be the most powerful because I had enough issues in my chilhood and all I want is to see the world burn!" For me, that was enough, because I know that's how it works in real life.
As a philosopher and a person that works teaching politics, I've to say that the tension between countries and how they portrayed communism as the enemy, that's how the real geopolitics works. It is terrible and yes, there are tons of ego which is why many from the global south dislike USA. However, they couldn't continue that way and redirected the whole thing towards a person that was a victim of violence, why? maybe because they wouldn't want a political issue in a future? perhaps?
I loved how the relations between the north and south was so polite, people are just people and they are brothers and sisters, that's all. And for those who say: they should have focused between the north and south and not involved the USA or other countries over there. HAHAHAH, that's not how the real world works. Even my country Colombia was involved in the Korean war.
So... just enjoy the show. They tried to do the best with geopolitics, a bit accurate, perhaps coward towards the end but just enjoy it...
Yoo Yeon Seok won my heart completely and I fell in love with Chae Soo Bin
Absolutely amazing!

Qi Min is indeed horrible.
She is not strong but she works with her mind.
And yes, she is desperate for her little sister, as an older sister too I would be in total chaos
That's what I'm trying to do right now.
