Guys, I'm currently on episode 12 and I totally get it. I understand why she behave like this, in one hand she doesn't understand how she feels at all, since she has been single for a while already she might think it is lust or might use any excuse for it. On the other hand, her morals are in war right now, she might think that it is just wrong to feel something for someone not just younger but also like a family member. Plus, her parents, their parents and judgemental society, it definitely won't be easy but we are getting there.
I adore the characters, she is definitely someone that acts like a conflicted 30 years old adult. And he is definitely your impulse "idgaf about the world, society, my career, family or wtv, I love you, that's all that matters" I think they just act their age, the script, the actors, the drama is really fresh, I love it.

As a teacher myself I've to say that I was worried about this. The FL and second FL with their crush were very dangerous for the teacher, but I think he handle it professionally, when the 2nd female lead confessed he didn't break her heart but rejected her properly. Keep in mind that most students always, always get a crush in the youngest teacher. Also, when ML got to know about his feelings for his ex-student, she was that his ex-student, more important is that he didn't act towards those feelings and that's what a professional teacher should do, never act towards one of their students.
In the beginning he was just worried about his more difficult student, which happens to a lot of us teachers, when you get a problematic student that is also very smart and you know they have a future you'll do anything you can to help them, that's what he did, he was worried about her because she was alone. But even if there was attraction he never acted towards that attraction, he was never inappropriate or using his position of power to groom or abuse her.
Good thing writers thought about this very well, stopped the teacher-student relationship and gave them time to become grown adults. (I hate those dramas in which the teacher is young and acts toward those feelings, no man, if you are a teacher your students are sacred! and you never touch them not even try).
Therefore, I don't feel that it was inappropriate, on the contrary I think they handle it very well, properly and with no complications. It was a crush, a problematic teacher crush, yeah but thank God nothing more than that. I'm not gonna talk about the age gap because when they meet she is 18, that's what she said. However, she is still a student, so that's all that matters, if you are a student even if the law (or your id) says different you are considered a minor no matter what.
