I’m starting to really like the princess arc now. Every scene between her and the Emperor is well executed and full of fire. Their dialogues are heart-piercing. Her character development is strong—she’s made mistakes in the past, but at least now she’s determined to take action. She’s thinking about revenge, about killing those who murdered her family.
After today’s episode, I don’t want the leads to have a peaceful life in the countryside. I want Feng Suige to become the next emperor and rule Susha as a wise ruler. In that regard, I agree with the current king — his brother and sister are not capable of ruling a country. Feng Xiying, that fool… if she ever gets a chance to become the Empress of Susha, she would hand it over to Xia Jingshi without a second thought. As a prince, Feng Suige has a duty to fulfill.
Also, I don’t like the princess arc right now. It feels like the writers are just humiliating her character without giving her any self-respect. And the emperor of Jinxu doesn’t seem fit to rule either.
