this was on my PTW list for forever and I finally got a chance to watch it. I really liked it, but I stopped feeling…
But she did though? I know this was 6 yrs ago but I can't help replying. She did the best she can. She stopped contacting her brother, cut ties, and ran away from him numerous times. But the guy was persistent. How frustrating must it be for her that she even tried to kill him and when she can't, tried to kill herself instead?
She can't escape him, at least in her mind. And the fact that it was her brother that stalks her - her only living family, her blood relation, HER parent - solidifies that fear. She will always be tied by filial duty to him. That's what kills her.
Yes to @amrita828! I've sought out all her reviews (and articles) because she has such a beautiful way with words. It almost feels like it has its own sound and rhythm.
Interesting article btw. When to write a review has always spark debate within the community. I think everyone should be entitled to write one whenever she/he thinks is appropriate BUT it's also important to remind everyone the difference between a review and commentary.
That said, I'm personally more of a fan of comments than reviews. Reviews can get pretty dull as it usually represents the popular opinion while comments had more variety and thus incites further discussion.
I'm taking a philosophy course on death and dying and one of the things I learned about was grief. When people…
It's this misguided notion that one will achieve 'closure' if only they work through these stages. As if there is some conclusion to sorrow. Like you can get over a loss.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a judger myself. I'm lowkey judging you if I see you rating Heirs more than 8. Hell, until now, I'm openly judging everyone for not giving Soredemo that much deserved #1 spot in the Top Rated show. But I try not to give voice to it as much as I can because I'm still a decent human being (most of the time).
Also, I had no problem going back to my list and re-adjust my ratings, not because of any personal crisis but because I watched something better. I'm pretty simple when it comes to ratings, I hold no criteria whatsoever. I tried that before, building a criteria and strictly sticking to it, pretentiously acting like I'm a professional critic but it was no fun in the end. So I just threw it all away and give 10s to my personal favorites, regardless of its flaws and whatnot. Now, I just wait a day or two before I rate so any afterwatch glow has passed and use my list as a basis. Did I like the drama as much as I like those in my 9s? No? Maybe, 8?
Someone is really devoted to assassinate her character. Articles just keep coming in. There's another one out…
Context is important though. We don't know the full extent of what happened, we could only speculate. And she did apologise to the viewers as soon as she was fired. Whether she should do it to the other party as well is not for us to judge. And I sincerely hope she does not do it just for the sake of it because it only encourages those who have power to abuse it.
I can’t even explain how excited I was to finally see Go hyun Jung on another’s drama again. I have seen her…
Someone is really devoted to assassinate her character. Articles just keep coming in. There's another one out a few hours ago and it's not even related to the drama.
It makes for a great action scene - lots of gore, lots of blood, lots of death, you name it - but not for a movie.
It lacks fluidity. There is little to no preparation for the next scene, just a sudden introduction that leaves you puzzled, a not so good how-did-I-came-about-this-scene kind of puzzled. I understand it's difficult to condense a multivolume manga into a two-hour film, especially one that has a hundred characters, but they could have done a better job into taking the audience out comfortably from scene to scene.
I guess I'm very lucky I live alone. I can drown in my tears, knees on the floor, hand on my heart, and shamelessly wail. No fear of judgment from my parents or siblings. Maybe, my next door neighbour but I rarely go out anyway so couldn't care less.
i dont get the synopsis... hiroko watanabe fiancee died, she writes a letter to his old address. itsuki fujii…
Might be too late but you got this part right: "hiroko watanabe fiancee died, she writes a letter to his old address. itsuki fujii a girl with the same name as that dead fiancee who also did go to the same school writes back. "
Hiroko Watanabe and the female Itsuki Fujii will be played by the same actress, Nakayama Miho.
Like the comment below mine, I like this version of Stalker's Guide. I went in here expecting I'll get a list of all his popular dramas, like the usual, but what a surprise, I got something else. I like all those little trivias (i.e. Best Jeanist and that lovely lovely quote of his) and how you ended the article with, "You're right I didn't cause people change when they get older. He probably still hates pickled plums, but he may not." So much truth in two sentences and one we often forgot, too, especially when it comes to celebrities.

Great article, btw. :)
