Started off as a nice deconstruction of the tropes in romance dramas, with rightfully showing the second lead as mentally ill based on his behavior, which is generally portrayed as "romantic". Same with the crazy and possessive second female lead. There was also good chemistry between the two leads, with their relationship coming of as mature and balanced, but then half way through the show, the show somehow started taking itself way to seriously, and the female lead started acting crazy, but somehow the psychiatrist boyfriend is unable to see the signs. Like it sucks, because other than the male lead, majority of the cast have variety of serious mental illnesses and all need therapy, and the only way to make this work now is for the male lead to forget his education and bend over backwards to get the girl. Like the poor guy is going to have to be half-dead or seriously injured, most probably by the second lead in order for him to get the girl, its a shame. The should have ended halfway through.
Legit liked the first episode Instead of melodrama, they actually went for understated, so we actually have to pay attention to what is going on, and that made watching this so enjoyable Hope the show keeps this up and avoids the melodrama angle
Also liked the male lead as well as the 'villain', both have really ambiguous faces
I know its your opinion but. You guys are the reason we get such cliches in dramas. You want the same. You dont…
I am all for pushing the boundaries, but lazy sensationalized writing is just disgusting to see. It is like the writers have no respect for the viewers intelligence, and it just baffles me that people will lap this baloney up.
The side characters introduced in ep 2 are ridiculously annoying. Also really weird and contrived scenarios, just smells of bad forced writing. It's like the writers got point A and point B in their minds but have no idea how to connect the dots. I must admit I expected a light hearted show, but what I got was serious shit happening in the background but the tone is still light hearted, not in a smart aware way, but like stupid sheep up for slaughter kind of way and it is really unpleasant to watch.
The main character is basically a creep. In the first episode, he hides who he is from the female lead, has someone who he has influence over to get the female lead to secretly record the voice of a girl he has been creepily crushing on for 10 years. Then, when asked why, he said he just wants a video of her or a piece of the girl he has been crushing on. He could just grow some balls and go talk to her and get that piece himself. Also, a 'piece' seems like something a serial killer would say.
This "romantic" behavior just seems to be unsettling and disturbing if you remove all the music and the haze of melodrama.
Baseball is not just about the game itself. Everything in life is not just about the spotlight. The backstage…
I second you on NGM, but this show WAS a waste for someone of his talents. Dude is probably the most badass male lead right now that jang hyuk is way less active
You should not write a review for a show before it's completely aired. Doing this means that you are trying to…
The framework itself is so bad, and whatever happens in the show has to happen within that framework. Episodes aired so far have done enough to establish said framework, which is what I am criticizing in my review.
The show has no heart. Lead has wide-ranging plot powers, diminishing any impact of the other characters, who are there to prop up the lead. To make things worse, there is the "no morality" gimmick, allowing the lead to shit all over the rest of the characters, justified by the "no morality " gimmick. Huge letdown, since there was potential but its completely squandered.
so this a show about baseball, where there is no actual baseball it's trying (and failing) an unorthodox practice of building tension without providing any release, and the tension doesn't really increase like it's just there and gets wasted away. the antagonists are also pathetic, with no real motivations even nam goong min's natural charisma can't make this entertaining this one is a waste of your time, don't watch this
edit: reply to those complaining that behind the scenes is important I went through the episodes due to curiosity The game is what drives everything, see Moneyball for example, which is what the manager is probably based on. There is no point in showing the stakes and the drama of the preseason without the season, when the actual payoff of all that is how the season goes, which is the whole point of the prelude
This show entirely exists in the prelude. Its like sex without the climax. I find shows that do that to be very unpleasant
The show even has the audacity to show "conclusions" of character arcs at the end. It's just extremely insincere and disrespectful of the audience.
this drama is so bad its ridiculous, and it keeps getting worse and worse i guess thats the problem with "netflix", they will just throw money at anything
damn this show has gone to shit after the first 3 episodes it was nice to see the two incompatible personalities form a relationship and they could have delved deeper, but they went the cliche route with the rival dude, what a waste
Man what a letdown. There are no likable characters, the mc just mopes around the whole time, what a waste, she's so pretty when she's happy and stuff. Then her family and the male character's family just sucks so much ass, like they are both really revolting people just in different ways. Did the writers think that populating a show with a bunch of unlikable characters just creating drama was a good idea? What a waste of time this is Also what a waste of such a great power. The only use of this power is to make the main character mope around to create more unnecessary drama. What a waste of great potential.

I want to see him in a eulachacha waikiki type show

not the best message for korea
