The show started so good but after setting up the premise, nothing has really happened. Its like a punching match between two fighters, where one throws a punch, the other one throws a harder punch, then the other one throws a harder punch and so on. Nothing really happens and the punching has continued onto the 17th episode so far, and only punches have been thrown. Its gotten a bit boring to be honest especially because I know who is going to win. This has been a disappointment.
Show has really good music, probably one of the best I've heard amongst the kdramas. So often I find myself paying attention to the accompanying music and it is always so on point and rarely repeated so far.
Hong Cha Young is one of the best female leads in a long time. She does whatever she wants regardless of whether it can be perceived as annoying or not, it's so unrestrained and refreshing to watch a female lead like this.
This isn't necessarily true. The diagnostic term is actually "antisocial personality disorder" and both psychopaths…
What I meant was that most of the thriving psychopaths would be found in positions of power, since they are born, they can be born anywhere. The percentage of psychopaths who turn out to be serial killers are literally in super minority. It just makes for good drama is all.
The whole psychopaths like to kill is super misunderstood. Psychopaths in the real world are most likely the people in positions of real power. Like the guy whose company made this show is more likely to be a psychopath than a guy who killed someone.
There are already different studies, using different ways, in detecting psychopaths and anyone who will be inclined…
In the 1940s, lobotomy was considered pretty medically sound but now its crazy, this is the same shit. Even polygraph tests are pretty much nonsense. Law enforcement does whatever, don't really care about the scientific validity of things, so even if they're used its got nothing to do with if it actually works. This is deeply unethical and thinking that it is rooted in reality at all shows how disturbing human beings are, but it makes for some good drama I guess.
Ep 4 was great especially the sound design. I think the sound design is my favorite thing about this show.
However, the Jun Woo shadow boss reveal was kind of weird since if he's such a big deal, then why doesn't anyone know who he is? Like this is a proper business, then who go through all that effort unless it was purely for the audience watching so that they can do a 'reveal'. It was a bit hollow, that reveal since it probably had nothing to do with the character's motivations but more to do with making things more dramatic.
I don't wanna hate on the show but there's a lot of things that's too unrealistic and doesn't make sense at all..…
It threw making sense out the window in the first 20 min when the male lead saves the day fixing a crashing plane that was crashing because his long dead brother(later not dead!) literally hits the window of the plane. I don't know how you can expect 'making sense' after that.
The CGI is so bad it's good. Its like 2012 youtube video level.
The story though is actually hilarious if you don't take it seriously.
For example, the entire setup is mind blowingly ridiculous. The male lead is on a plane all sad about his dead brother who was unable to join him in his success, when something hits the plane, killing only the pilot and it turns out it was his long dead brother! WHat?! And then it turns out his brother is not only not dead but perfectly alright!
It definitely takes the cake for one of the most ridiculous setups I've seen and it's not even a parody. Everyone is super serious about the whole thing. I don't even care about it making sense now since they threw common sense out the window in pretty much the first episode.
The main couple is super forced and really cringy right from the start where they weren't even a couple till now. The direction is bad, they know what they want the result to be like but have no idea how to properly execute what they have in mind so even though everything seems right, it's feels wrong and cringy. This is hard to watch.
seolhyun cute daughter??? lolI didn't know people exist who would want their daughters to be a bully and be so…
what the 'troll' says is exaggerated but not entirely untrue though I just want to say this is why trump got elected, people be blocking what they don't like to hear and its really easy to create your echo chamber on the internet
So its comedic tone with the serious stuff happening in the background doesn't really go too well. These guys are a bunch of amateurs, their boss is an amateur, the king is an amateur.
Even putting aside the comedic tone, these guys are supposed to be spies aren't they? How do people supposed to be spies end up making a scene everywhere they go, and are super emotional about everything? It really doesn't work. Its like a bunch of joke characters play acting something serious.
It doesn't work but its a good time regardless because of Honglang.
