everything tagged as 'drama special' shows up in a seperate section on actors' page but on the website they changed the name of 'special' section to 'drama' so now there are now two 'drama' sections on everyone's page, it's confusing. idk how fool in love doesn't count as a standard series maybe an error but i will try sending the edit. it has seperate drama and special sections on app though.
edit: already sent in the edit but then realised that it was probably tagged correct. the '188 group' tagged as the original story on fool in love love page is actually a novel series consisting of 11 novels written by shui qiancheng. fool in love is adapted from one of those novels called 'in love with an idiot'. my stand-in by up and poom is also adapted from one of the 11 novels but idk why msi page doesn't mention 188 group as the original story in its related content section. maybe it's because it's an independent series and not from tailai ent idk.
it's like fourever you s2 format, it you watched that. it has a main drama page and each couple has a seperate page. i don't really know if tailai entertainment has any plans to adapt the other 9 novels and also give a fresh take to my stand-in (would be a stupid decision since that one came out not long ago) but if they have no plans of adapting the other novels, that '188 group' page is useless, should be removed and fool in love should be rightfully tagged as a standard series.
i feel like watching pearl stepping into the unfamiliar human world and figuring out how everything works could be quite funny like that last scene was hilarious 😂 but the plot itself isn't quite grabbing and those merman costumes need a big upgrade hope they have enough funds for that. rn no plans to watch but will definitely watch if reactions at the time of airing are good.
Since the comment box is still active, i am going to see dwy for the first time, so should i watch the uncut version…
the audio is a bit low on director's cut and each ep is only a few seconds or a minute longer than the uncut version. i didn't watch it but i heard that it's just some random bits and maybe few secs extra of nc scenes. i did compare screentime of some nc scenes but couldn't really find anything extra so don't know what they're talking about. anyways, you aren't missing anything important so better watch it with good audio quality. i tried watching director's cut but switched to uncut version halfway through ep1.
this pilot trailer already feels whole(?) i loved it and it felt like i was watching a short film but that's about it. i am pretty sure i wouldn't like 10 or 12 eps of it lol
I see your point. I’m going to hope that he’ll respect the seriousness of the subject matter.
i think he is going to fuck it up bad, he has been following the same pattern since his hit series uwma and hoping for his direction choices to change overnight is asking for a miracle to happen 😭
i also thought about who else could handle such sensitive topics better and i really couldn't think of anyone like even aof fucked up the last episode of last twilight (even though the rest of the show was peak)
so anyone interested in applying for the subtitles translation post at mangotv? they have 1 employee and that employee is probably messing with all of us because what the fucking hell is this?
I also wondered that. And I felt that some scenes, like Miao Jing's mom hiding the ledger book under the mattress,…
so true i really loved this overall dynamic of two neglected children finding a home in eachother and the actors are great and had good chemistry, music was touching, there was nothing really getting on my nerves so I could watch it till the end. the success of this drama has nothing to do with the story itself. i wish they will be cast in something else 😩

ya that too, i was eagerly waiting for it to be pulled out as a trump card. why clearly show her hiding it and then her mom mentioning it awhile later if miao jing already destroyed it if they were not gonna use it again in the story? i didn't follow the production of this show but i have a feeling they cut alot to get that distributing licence. they never mentioned alot of details that i felt were important to the show.
on top of my mind — that ledger, tuli meeting cen ye, i can imagine but his traumas in country jin, why chen yi is scraed of electricity, why chen yi fell into debt when wei ming zhen fled teng city, what happened to that case file he hid in the cistern during that fire and also the transition between past to present was weird. it didn't show their time apart correctly. if miao jing didn't come out with a completely different personality, i would probably not feel that 6 years gap.
there are many more but i feel like these are the ones that needed to be addressed.
why did tuli meet cen ye in that one episode and they never addressed it again for the rest of the show? if they cut their follow up scenes, why even keep that one scene? am i missing something or it makes no sense at all? seriously this drama is missing a lot of details
