Fuck mango TV for cutting it out from the drama and turning it into an "epilogue." greedy jerks.

The actors and directors already said this was not the original ending and that MangoTV edited the shows in a way that messed up the order and made this into a cliffhanger/suspended ending. It was suppose to be happy ending, but instead MangoTV cut out the happy ending part and turned it into an "epilogue" to generate more revenue for themselves.
the actors and directors are also really upset and frustrated at how the show turned out. don't blame the production team, blame corporate greed.

not gonna lie you sound pretty entitled. Yeah those people have lives, yet they're choosing to spend their free time subbing episodes for free instead. That's call being altruistic and contributing to the community out of the goodness of their heart.
yes this is a top show, which it why it often generate a lot of ungrateful people like you who loves to complain about the quality of the subtitle or the speed it's being put out instead of being nice and thanking the bilingual people for their hardwork.
It means money? tell me who is paying these small time individuals to sub the episode. I dont think you know how these asian drama subs work. unless they're contracted licensors by big platforms such as iquiyi, in which case you can only watch on iquiyi with paid subscription, most of the subbed dramas are subbed for free by bilingual people. Nobody is paying them and they're doing it on a purely voluntary basis.
If you're not going to appreciate the resources for free, stop asking for handouts and go learn korean or chinese or japanese instead. That way you'd understand how hard it is for even fluent bilinguals to translate ancient way of speaking in historical dramas like this, and maybe you'd feel humbled and learn to be a grateful person

lol it's worse than that. In the end, they were about to get married. then the FL's master shows up and says I'm going to take you back to your own world. and the show literally ends with the FL narration saying this is my story, and the ending doesn't matter. The end. You don't ever get to find out whether she stays in the current world or goes back

because people also have lives and they're not getting paid to make these subs. they're volunteering their time out of the goodness of their heart.
if you want people to get subs done faster then you should pay someone to do so.
it's good to remember to be grateful to the people freely dedicating their time to make subs for the public's enjoyment

exactly. in the recent episodes the way her father and HC has been forcing her to make decisions by threatening to never see her again or kill themselves is disgusting and abusive. anyone would be conflicted and upset in those situations

the ending was in my opinion pretty bad for dance of phoenix. really disappointed b/c the beginning was pretty good

I think the episodes this week have shown us the sad reality and extremely harmful impact of victim blaming. The way people scoffed at and blamed linglong for what happened to her is despicable, and she is very fortunate to have a man who really loves and supports her like mingyan.
Victim blaming also happens frequently in real life. We must learn from fiction and be better people in this world.

Poor mingyan! The things he do for linglong and their determination to be together made me cry so hard. I hope the drama ends with them having children and a happy life!

and to make matter worse they didn't even release new trailer episodes. Like if you're going to go back on the regular schedule at least release the trailers for the episodes you cancelled. But no, youku is so callous they wont even grace the super subscribers with additional trailers.

so the way it works is regular subscriber can either 1. buy each advance episodes individually (so for instance I could have just bought episode 27 and 28 individually this week if they had kept the super subscriber perk) or 2. pay a large amount of fee all at once for one drama and unlock super subscriber status for that drama (where you pay a large sum of money at the very beginning and afterwards every thursday you can watch 8-9 episodes ahead).
I and like many others chose option 2 because it's just cheaper that way and obviously you get to watch more episodes every week.
But now they pulled this stupid stunt I basically wasted my money paying all at once in the beginning. I almost feel like they broke a contract with the super subscribers by backing out of the episodes like this.

Not sure. Some people on Weibo are saying they're just delaying this super subscriber update this thursday but other thursdays will proceed as planned.

good thing you didn't! i'm totally regretting my decision to pay now. And they're acting like they did the show fans a favor by delaying b/c now fans can enjoy the show at a "slower pace."

How does everyone feel about Youku's decision to delay the original plan of releasing ep. 27-35 on Aug. 20 for super subscribers?
For those who don't know, there are three ways to watch LnR on Youku: Free, subscriber, and super subscribers. Free members watch one episode per day, subscribers watch 2 eps every Sun-Wedsday while super subscribers get all the perks above + get to watch 8-9 eps extra each Thursday starting this week. super subscribers obvi pay more than regular subscribers.
I think it's a bit scummy since they promised the super subscribers, and lots of people (like myself) paid Youku extra b/c they wanted to see extra LnR episodes early. I never would have paid for super subscriber status if I knew they were going to pull this stunt :/

I was hesitant about this show because Zheng Ye Cheng is the ML, and I have a very strong impression of his goofy character from love O2O. I couldn't see him as a serious general character and was worried about his acting skills. So glad to see I'm wrong! He's such a great actor it blows me away! He is so handsome and strong as a stone-faced general, I'm totally fangirling over him!

You get hints of it throughout the episodes, but they're very subtle hints that might not be picked up by non-native Chinese speakers. For instance, in one episode FL's maid mentions that she makes really good boba milk tea and thai milk tea. In another episode, she tricks her cousin by giving him what she claims to be a complex poem, but is actually just a list of elements from the periodic table. It's very clever screenplay writing and I'm really astonished at the details!

I'm honestly surprised by how good this drama is! I try to look at ratings and comments on both Douban and MDL to get as big of a picture of a drama as possible before investing my time in it. Needless to say I delve into Love and Redemption pretty quickly due to its high popularity on both sites.
But I can't believe I almost missed this gem! I was skeptical because of the lower amount of users engaging and commenting on the drama, and I thought the high ratings might be exaggerated a bit by the small amount of users. But man was I wrong! What an incredibly funny, fast-paced, and sweet drama! Both FL and ML are incredibly attractive and great at their roles. For anyone coming across this comment, I hope this pushes you to try out this drama.

Si Ming is my favorite character in this whole show just because of how funny and consistent his character has been. His facial and verbal expressions are always so funny!
