I read other comments mentioned that Xu Kai suits with this kind of character. This is just my opinion, but i think he still not delivered his best enough compared to his other dramas. In his previous dramas, he convince me that he indeed a great actor but here, I'm not saying he is bad but he just 'good'.
I have to give a standing ovation to their OST songs. All of their OST seriously good. Especially Heroes and Facade. Last time that i love all the OST from the same drama was the Ashes of Love. And now i found the new best soundtrack.
Those who already read the novel. Don't you guys find that Tong Yao in this drama way more calm and composed compared to character in the novel where she is the center of crazy, funny and savage person too the point that I feel bad for Lu Sicheng everytime his brother and Tong Yao bickering. Is it bcos of ages. She's 22 here while in book she's still sweet 19. I still love tong Yao in this drama but I hope she's a bit more aggressive.

If this drama is not an adaptation and a remake then most viewers will make that scene is a big deal, in fact, most versions have that scene. Since most of us already watched all versions and among all of them, he is the nicest one so that's why most of the viewers can bear watching that part and that part is the softest one if we compared with what other version had done. But then again, there's nothing wrong if you guys hate that part since it was obviously an assault. Better hate rather than questioning why this version of DaoMingSi is too soft and not a bullying.
I get impatient waiting for Shan Chai confession but then again in Hana Yoridango, she confesses her feeling at the end of the last episode of the first season. While Meteor Garden was after DaoMingsi broke up with that Monkey.
I guess in this version, it was because there's nothing wrong with Dao Mingsi. He had done everything for her except he's a bit childish.
I guess I'm the only one who is not coming from this generation who enjoyed watching this version. I had watched Meteor Garden (Taiwanese ver.) in 2001, HanaDan in 2008, BoF in 2009 and Meteor Shower in the last few months. Basically, I already watched all the version.
The reason why I prefer this version so far,
1. I know bullying is a must in this story but I'm glad it not excessive like previous versions especially BoF. I still don't understand why need to ruin someone life, burn their bicycle, injured someone. Let alone about rape. 2. I actually like her parents here. Her parents are not a scammer and not that annoying. I like how they like DaoMing Si not because he is some wealthy son but he gave a good impression like being polite to them. 3. She able get into a very prestigious university not because of some turn events but bcos of her effort and we can see she has a dream that she needs to achieve. 4. These F4 are not some kids who relying 100 percents on their parents' wealth. Like how DaoMing Si paying his own campus fees and he has the money because he is good at investments. 5. F4 here looks more like a friends rather than looking like a king and his followers (BoF).
And I'm sure I prefer this version more because of the positive improvement in their characters and more realistic but Meteor Garden S1 and HanaYoriDango will always occupies a very special place in my heart.
