Yeah i feel like that was handled terribly and just felt really "out of character" for him...thats his NEPHEW who TOLD HIM he wanted to marry her three years ago?? Thye just did it so he could do his fake assassination and then have him almost die bc of the letter of separation she def deserved to send him only for them to completely move on anyways?? This was a scene/part of the show that def negatively impacted my rating of the show.

Yeah...I think the romance was slow burn enough that I liked watching them "grow" and "solve issues" together so I didn't even mind the last 10 episodes too much but the ending needed at least another 10 minutes to *close out* all the plots and characters we have grown to love and learn about over the course of 40 episodes. Such a shame because up until like episode 35, I was sure this show would get an 8 or 9/10 for me...but it ended up 7.8 because of how much of a let down the ending was.

I will say the time jump of 3 years makes no sense to me and I’m also pretending Gu Jin Zhao‘s coming of age ceremony happened when she was 18 bc 15 is just unbelievable (realistic for the era, unbelievable for her character and unacceptable for the relationship)

the TLDR is ppl were SUPER excited for it so the reality was that much more disappointing..I'm not done with it so i cant say it *isnt* 6.7 but I think if it wasn't so anticipated, it would maybe have scored a tad higher

This show suffers doubly from the high anticipation/expectations, so the parts that are poorly executed are that much more glaringly obvious. My biggest issue so far is Ren Su Su--are we supposed to *not* root for her as the FML? Are we supposed to just really side with Murong Qing Yi as the MML? We can tell Ren Su Su has a "dark past" from the beginning but the director/show chooses to withhold the details as much as possible which leaves us unimpressed by all her choices. I have no sympathy for her and already wished several times that Murong Qing Yi just exposed her.

Zhou Wan and her mom have interacted lets say about 7 times in these 10 episodes...and of them they have had the *exact* *same* *conversation* *every* *time*......Like how many times will Zhou Wan promise to keep her distance but then break it (for fair reasons tbh) and for her mom to make the same bullying comments and threats? I am 100% dropping this because her mom ripping the picture was actually PAINFUL for me and pissed me right off to the point that I cannot watch this mom on screen at all anymore.

I am truly abt to drop this bc her actions in ep 10 are honestly ridiculous -- the acting is fine, the MLs are cute, but the plot is just *off*. Yeah I think if this came out much closer to its end of filming this show would have been received a lot better but having seen love of the divine tree, feud, and veil of shadows, this show really does not give the actors room to shine the way they did in the other shows.
