I don’t think it had anything to do with moving on as much as maybe being or giving him more incentive to continue…
Tbh, I believe that was a very immature way to give him more incentive to continue working hard in school - his circumstances are so so so much different from hers. And he already said he won't give up on school. I know he said university might be difficult for him to get into, but I still think without her doing that, he would try his best.
One thing that I really did not like though, was her deleting her contact from his phone (WITHOUT even asking him) and then deleting his from her phone...I felt like that was so unnecessary? Like I get it - I get that maybe it'll help them "move on", or give him motivation but idk she still has pictures of him, and all of the memories. Also, I feel like Xing Wu would be the type of guy to remember her number by heart, so he doesn't really need her contact info. Anyways, yeah these two eps today were saaaddd

Reporting back: things are getting better slowly for Xing Wu and his family (he's working too hard though) but this is a slight spoiler - she leaves, and so the latest two eps have been quite sad.
