I'm at episode 10 now and am really enjoying this drama. The main leads have great chemistry and the acting is…
Agreed the FL stole the show, and more importantly she managed to play a role that could have easily become OOT and annoying with such elegance, intelligence and cuteness combined!
A little gem of a drama. It's so cute, has a completely healthy relationship and I felt it was so underappreciated I wrote my first ever official MDL review after being on this site for 10 years. Amazing acting by both leads and CUTE CATS ALL AROUND!!!
Well, that was out of the blue I loved Liang Jie's acting, she and her character here both are lovable
Yup and to me she didn't, she fell flat and like I said I have seen her in other dramas where she has been fine. It doesn't mean I have a bias against her cause of "my love for a male actor." That was what you said and it was frankly very insulting. You can defend a drama/actor like the other user above did without resorting to insulting assumptions.
Nice to talk to you too but I hope in the future you are more careful of assumptions you make on other users online.

No I was talking about it from a purely acting POV. I think that was pretty clear from my comment tbh. At no point did I talk about the ML looks or how he is "mine" or wtv nonsense. So that was you assuming on your own.
And in most modern setting Cdramas (historical dramas are different) a lot of crap directing and writing is targeted at female leads and it's not their fault (for them to be extra screechy/cute/nonsensical). It's something that is changing slowly with dramas like You Are My Hero.
"my favourite is my favourite and Cha Eun Woo is Cha Eun Woo'" - I don't even really know this actor and just randomly clicked on this article and this line made me so sad! What kinda chant is that :(

Nice try but I don't hold grudges against actors. I am not 5 years old in my logic like you seem to be (he is my bias therefore any women around him is a threat)?
Also this is maybe the first or second drama I have watched with Steven Zhang, I don't even really know anything about him as an actor or person.
I so get you I am so tired of those dubbing. Chinese dramas could be so good without those dubbing. First you…
Yes ! I understand why they do it because of the dialect etc but sometimes it does make certain cdramas almost unwatchable (esp when it is done so poorly!).
Terrible terrible acting. Its just...wow. So badly acted dropped after 2 eps. I normally give (esp cdramas) at least 5-6 episodes to get pulled in but man a blank piece of wood could emote more than the FL.
I too was on the camp of ok this is great to....wtf was this even. In summary of my comment in DAYS (cause I don't really write reviews), this drama had everything - amazing cast, cinematography, chemistry between MLs. What it didn't have was a story. That and an extremely non sequitur script that didn't work for this drama. The writer failed the cast and crew unfortunately.
Watched till ep 17 and that's about all I could take of the drama. The main issue is the FL, she is so unrelatable and unlikable in this. I have seen her in some other shows and she's been fine but here she's just so stiff and has almost no facial expressions (and that's not just the times she's playing the switched souls parts). When I watch her act I can't understand at all why the ML has fallen for her except that she has a loving family? In contrast the ML has acted so well I didn't want to give up on the drama because of him, he played both brooding ML and cute female character so well. He was more likeable as a female than the FL herself!
Also the drama trying to pass off an entertainment journalist as serious biznesss is laughable. They report on pointless scandals and who is dating who (which is even what they discuss in the office meetings). I'm not sure how they expected us to sympathise with a job that is designed to make the life of artists hell most of the time. If she had been a news anchor or a journalists chasing corruption then that would have been something I could see her a defending, but (till ep 17) everyone calls her out on her job and they aren't wrong.
Does this drama romanticize sasaengs and stalking? Sasaengs make the lives of celebrities a nightmare and it also…
It totally does do that actually. The FL is not portrayed as a saseng but she comes pretty damn close. She is completely obsessed with the idol character and there's even a scene where (light spoiler) she gets attacked mistakenly by those fans and she forgives them, because she can see herself in them. The show basically portrays obsessive fangirling in a very sympathetic light- when in reality the amount that is shown is pretty unhealthy.
Tried watching this three times now and made it to ep 14 the third time but kept losing interest. Whilst the leads had great chemistry I was sooooooooooo uncomfortable with the fangirling aspect of the drama. I fan girl over bands/artists too (BTS<3) but to the point of going to the airport to take photos, saying they can't date because they "belong to the fans", attacking their supposed girlfriends and then portraying all that in a sympathetic light. NO. It's all saseng behavior. Just cause the show keeps trying to convince the viewers that- its just cute fangirling and just supporting the artists- doesn't make it the case. This toxic obsession with celebs and claiming them to only belong to the fans, to never have partners is out of hand. Spend that energy on saving the planet ya'll. /rant
Perfect for watching when you want something good but short. Some parts were better than 1 hour episodes. Not perfect but very good to watch for a break from long dramas. Both ML and FL acted well (although a bit stiff in the beginning). I totally felt the FL during the waitress scenes though, having worked in the service industry, it can really make you lose faith in humanity !
Thanks for the further explanation! :)

What a dumb comment.
