Hi, this seems like its not going to have a good ending. With ML character being the cause of her family being…
I mean we had Prisoner of Beauty where FL was indirectly responsible for a large part of ML's family being wiped out. And that managed a good ending so you need not worry about such trivialities. Besides, novel readers have confirmed a happy ending.
The synopsis reminds me a bit of Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Is it so?
Also, there's no romance in this? I expected WXY to finally end up with Bai Lu in at least one drama they do together. I guess that's too much to ask for xD
Part of the reason why I’m struggling finishing this drama too. It’s like he is supposed to be this scary…
Indeed, their chemistry feels very plastic. It’s not a very good show. If you’re not that far in, you can always drop it and watch something more worth your time. Life’s too short to be wasted on crappy things.

My thoughts exactly! And it’s like he’s too flawless (which is an issue I see in many chinese dramas but not so much in historical ones) but it’s overdone here. The way he let that foreign princess walk away scot-free after trying to kill the FL. A ML of his reputation would’ve slaughtered her. The character itself seems so flawed, even the actor is struggling. I had to speed through the second half of the drama on 3x.
Can someone explain why M went to Shen Yi with a childhood picture of the police captain if they already knew who he was, given how he had broken the famous human trafficking case?
For the most part they're actually catching people who are going a tad too far to defend themselves against the injustice that the cops should've prevented. It annoys me how most of their cases are against people standing up to their bullies and abusers.
I knew it was her!!! I had to do a double take and even then I still wasn’t sure.
It was only when I saw her with open hair in the scene they all go for a team dinner that I noticed. My brain generally just ignores many supporting characters especially when they’re associated with an SML I dislike.
Indeed. That felt almost absurd. The moment Prince Jin found that dagger, he knew what it meant and his first instinct was to switch it out for his own (clearly non-bloody) one. Others had similar reactions. And given the power vested into kings in historical dramas, I have a hard time believing that the king couldn’t have simply said, “she attacked me first and I had no option but to defend myself” and absolutely everyone nodding along with him in complete assent. What honestly sucks imo is that from the beginning of this show I had this thought- ah finally a cdrama where the king is neither stupid, nor sickly and definitely not evil. They totally had me in that first half ngl :p
I am sorry, but can anyone recommend me university-romance trope cdramas?
If you're cool with one of the leads in uni and the other older/working- Hidden Love, Falling Into You (sports), Love Scenery, Love Me Love My Voice. Both in uni but sports based- To Fly With You, My Unicorn Girl. Both in regular uni- Forever Love, Put Your Head On My Shoulder.
I wish they stopped showing people throwing up every damn time there is a body, or Wan does an autopsy. It was funny the first two times and is consistently frustrating ever since.
