The biggest plot twist is the ending song FADED lol. Pretty boring movie especially during the beginning it became a bit engaging during the later part but not enough to save the film. Again the plot twist is predictable and villain's resolve is pretty stupid. Acting by fukushi sota is bad too while suzu is atleast good. For those who loves to ship actors there is not much romance between suzu and fukushi sota in this movie. Another miss by miike. Hopefully the next one would be hit.
What makes you say that? It felt chillingly real to me. I think while Jong Soo is presented as this pure, quiet…
I maybe over complicating things and not looking at the obvious but that is just me as a viewer, I've always been like that. I said this because before that final scene we see an image of hae-mi giving jongsu pleasure in his mind and jongsu finally writing his story. I am not conviced jongsu is capable of murder the way I see him in the movie.
Ben is also a big mystery to me. Is he really a serial killer? is the big question. I understand that greenhouses is a metaphor for those woman, greenhouses being dirty, not needed which no one wil look for them even if they disappear just like hae-mi and other girls, but there is also a possibility that he is not killing them but giving them a new life, new purpose by helping them. We have that scene where Hae-mi says she had plastic surgery and I was thinking ben is just helping her to renew herself and disappear from all people who knows her. Ben is born rich so he probably just bored with his life, film always shows him yawning and he said he didn't experienced crying, and he only finds joy playing with people's lives by renewing them. He also looks genuinely surprised when jongsu stab him.
I also love your analysis it makes sense a lot and yeah it's a great movie to dissect. Best movie I've seen this year.
She's become underrated recently. I hope she get more romance movie/dramas projects cause she really has good chemistry with whoever her partner. I think nana komatsu kind off stole her spot cause they have the same vibe and they almost getting the same type of roles. It's also funny to think that I've been watching her like forever. This girl is just 23. Lol
As long as there is no disease involved like suddenly one character got terminally ill I am good with whatever ending they give us. I always hate that kind of shallow writting everytime I encounter it.
I don't think parks is considered as indie compared to others. It's a great movie though. The best thing in that movie is the chemistry of that cast and also the music.
