I don't know if I can watch this as much as i want to support Saint's return to bl I just find the power imbalance too much and I will be cringing the whole time idk
I thought I was overthinking not liking HillTer storyline, they have no chemistry and I find them so boring it's so disappointing because I think Earth is one of the strongest actors in the show but he's paired with a very stiff and boring partner, the only reason I may finish this series is for JohanNorth
I wasn't planning on watching a kdrama for awhile but because of the backlash I will be watching this and rewatching. their hate has made this series more popular so yayyy
I really enjoyed this drama mostly because of the female lead loved her in story of Yanxi, i'm actually surprised this show has such a high rating because it was lacking in so many areas, the quote on quote villains didn't receive the retribution I think they deserved and the driving force for the female lead was not deserved, for example her father and brother are both still alive in the end, tong'er i believe died for no reason and mrs Jiang deserved way more consequences than forgetting everything she did and living her life 'lost'.
The male leads revenge took a backseat and was rushed in the end, Shen Yu Rong becoming an actual villain not until ep 38 and lastly what was that ending?!?!
With all that said I very rarely chinese historical dramas so 8.5/10
I am enjoying this drama, I know a lot of you want to boycott because they've censored the romance but it is very obvious with the undertones that Yi Heon and Se Kyung have strong feelings for each other but the story is also really interesting.
Pretty good first couple of episodes and then it became mostly about the detective and the other killer, we should have gotten into the psychological warfare Lee Tang was going through. As he became a serial killer I wanted to see him become more and more psychotic but instead, we got this accidental vigilante. Woo Shik is such a good actor, I finished this drama mostly for him.

are we supposed to root for any of the kids, Ro-na is so bratty and can be so mean to her mum, the twins are too close they need to be separated. I don't like any of the kids
I have to blame the writers and director, they ruined the show completely, most of the storyline is a mess and not fleshed out or underwhelming. I thought they were writing Kuea to be a stronger character but he's the same Annabelle from the 1st episode. Hia Yi and Nong Diao their whole plot was boring, if it wasn't because of Max and Nat I would've skipped it. lastly, what was the point of setting up Nuer to be a love rival and then not following up with it, even if he ends up with Syn in the end it's still such a wasted opportunity to see Hia Lian actually have some competition?
This show is very much hurt people hurt people, and everyone is trying to hurt NGJ, I continued watching for the romance it was cliché but that my s*** after a while the revenge gets jarring and predictable which makes it hard to watch. He's just one man but so many people are coming after him from different angles.
