I can't really help you with the teaching English at university/college level, but I know that for Taiwan at least, there are both government run and private run programs teaching English to kids from kindergarten to highschool. A couple of my friends have done this, and I believe for the government ones room and board was provided. I'm guessing Japan should have something similar :)

It is better than Why Why Love :) [at least in my opinion :P]. I liked Mike He as a badass for the most part, which was why I was disappointed with Why Why Love when I watched it afterwards.

hmm...well here are 10 TW dramas not on your completed list: In time with you [got great reviews!], it started with a kiss, they kiss again [season 2], prince turns to frog, 100% senorita, bump off lover, Confucious, hayate the combat butler, i want to become a hard persimmon, inborn pair.

^I haven't watched all of them, but they all have been recommended to me one way or another :)

I read recaps because most of the time I don't have time to watch the drama. Reading a recap takes me a little over five minutes, which most of the time I can spare. Watching a drama episode takes 50+ minutes...which I can rarely spare. I love to read, so reading the recaps is almost like a book, with each chapter coming out once or twice a week. :)

Ivy Chen is the best :D Did I mention she's the main lead in Black and White? She plays a mob boss daughter...and is pretty spunky :)
