How is Mao related to the " Crown Prince ie Wuyi? Are they really blood half brothers. It looks like the Emperor had a few concubines but not legitimate male heir only illegitimate. The current Emperors son born first through his main concubine. Then the Empress Wenxi had born secretly the real Crown Prince Wuyi but they kept him hidden as who would protect him so young. Then his other concubine prior to emperor being murdered had affair with Jiayu dad and Mao (another male heir was born) was born but they think he was Emperors son. That is why they keep saying they have no crown prince because they are illegitimate sons except for Wuyi who was a girst line heur born after Emperor died hidden in secret .

Side note Prince Changsa called her Aunt. So I am thinking he legit was a first line heir without Wuyi because he was probably son of Emperor Wexis brother and since when Emperor Wenxi died he had not had legit male heirs and his brother dead the throne would pass to his son Changsa if there was no Wuyi ie crown prince alive. It would pass to his brothers line as all others were illegitimate male heirs. So Wuyi, Mao, The Empetor are all blood half brothers. Changsa was their blood cousin full blooded to Wuyi. Changsa dad could have been older or younger but died so throne passed to Emperor Wenxi.

The subtitles said 100 years ago when the Empress Wenxi....lol No way 100 years ago. Jiayu mother close to the Empress she probably knew concubine was scheming for her elder son to be on throne. When concubine killed Emperor there was no son other than hers. Empress Wenxi knew with her being pregnant if that child was a boy he would be killed. So she probably died in childbirth and secretly gave the baby son to the Nanny and Jiayu mom with Phoenix Heart symbol and witness to prove he was true first in line Crown Prince. They somehow gave titles to the adoptive parents of Wenxi. But they made it seem like they killed her son to replace him in their family with the crown prince?

Who is Jiayu? At first i thought she was Emperess secret baby. But now I am so confused. I know the origin of her birth parents will be important and tied to him. I have a feeling shes royal and would have been bethrothed to Wuyi anyway had their birth parents raised them. In the Novel they made each other Jealous with Fake BF and Fake GF by bringing them to their apt. ML flipped out and forbid it. Not really a spoiler but I feel like they will not put those scenes in the drama. It feels like they will focus on case and them coming together with no real obstacles. Maybe i am wrong. I was kind of hoping for a jealous Chen Yi like in Novel.
