I notice some of the actors were in CZY other dramas. I saw two already from Fated Hearts. The young Meng TingHui was the adopted daughter in Fated Hearts and Grandtutor has played his dad twice!
I really can't wait for his elder sister's downfall! When he finds out that they beat both of them and one left in street to die and she almost lost baby! Damn!!! I do not think he knows she jumped on top of him protecting him and lost part of her hearing over it. He seems to be the one with the money, prestige and power now! Oh how the tables have turned!!!!
Thank you! The way you just spoke my mind. Good to know I'm not the only one who felt the "excessive hate…
I know! I am watching so many K and C dramas with AI intros! These titles are expendive to make. It takes huge dollars from their budget they want to put other places like production. AI is cheaper. Look at Royal Betrothals opening! But its cool! Also i love the Ai intro of Overdo itis literally telling a story and plot points to come. Even the last shot with bride on staurcase and him in military uniform. It gave away spoilers subtly.
Mostly with each other. War lords fighting 1915–1928; civil war 1927- 1949 , and Japanese invasion between 1937-1945.
Isnt this right before communists came in? Unless it is set way before World War 2 when Japan invaded them. Dark Night and Dawn is set right after they became Communist country and were fighting the Northern spies. They treated it like society was brutal and ruthless with widespread corruption, warlords etc. Even if in drama they had happily ever after. They will lose to communist party. So everything he would have built will be under Communist rule. Would be interested to know what year this is in and when the Communist party started. The Japanese honestly were the biggest threat. Look what happened at Pearl Harbor China were fighting against themselves North and South right? Even in Society the Japanese have a hiearchy over other Asians. I have nothing against them. But after watching Pachinko it really opened my eyes. Not to mention the comfort women. There is a beautiful scene in Pachinko where Hansu aks Lee Min Ho is wearing a glaring White Suit. Come to find out he was Korean but ended up through a horrific earthquake in Japan marrying into Yakuza family. He was Korean but part of a Yakuza family. Evidentally only the Japanese could wear white. No Koreans were allowed to wear white!
I think Li Boze of all people lying it wzs his child is pot meet kettle! They were switched at birth. He knows the pain and trauma it caused them both to be raised by you falilys enemy and not know your true identity!!!! Not to mention she knows the pain it caused him. Why would she want that for her son! He deserves to know his real father!
is the masked lady who killed ding the FL's childhood friend who supposedly died?
I am wondering if masked lady is the one his friend met at the hair pin stand with Knife. Then she disappeared. They showed her for a reason. Very random.
Did you watch CZY in Fated Hearts? He was more vicious there!
He has hardly done laid back roles. Hidden Love, Our Secret, All About Secrets, was his "little break " from action and traumatic drama. The real CZY does not do relaxed roles
No I think they are younger than that, Not in IRL but in drama. I think she was about 10 when he saved her . He was probably 14. I am thinking he is about 24. With a 4 year age difference.
What happened to the the knife she took from Emperor years before? Did she sell it? Either way that was weird that particular looking dagger ended up with Jiang Mier. Not to mention what happened the dagger she got from Emperor as a chiild. It seemed very specific and engraved?
I am not so sure I agree. Yes she got in on her own merits but its costs money to survive. She went to a high end high school. I feel strongly he did something to watch over her. He had rescued her from a child kidnapping ring. She had nothing. No way he wouod leave her to fend for herself and starve. He had to off done something to help her survive.
Questions. Who originally had the imperial knife? Was that the knife she took from him when they were kids? I noticed that Jiang Mer had the knife in first episode before FML took it. When The Emperor saw FML with that imperial knife he got so upset. Was it because he was looking for the girl he had given the knife to years before? I assumed he always knew it was her and watching over her from afar. How else wouid she afford to attend that school growing up? She had to have a benefactor. She was an orphan. Who raised her. It looked like she was sent to a school in town so she would also have food and shelter. Otherwise even though he rescued her she would still be a beggar on the streets without his help. He just showed up an protected her! It is obvious he always knew where she was and went to check on her when he went to investigate the case.
Wow! I did not realize this had such a Lawrence of Arabia feel to it! I did not know about this time in history or the influence from the desert in relation to the Royals. I always just assumed it was all cherry blossoms etc lol. The theme of this drama and even when he had the long hair reminds me so much of Song Weilong in "Everlasting Longing" Especially the bad CGI animals lol. I loved that drama!! Regardless this drama has been a 10 for me. I laughed so hard when these idiots kept insulting the Emperor to his face without knowing who he was. The look on his face when he saw all the corruption going on behind his back. Also I like that he does not kill because he is power mad. He actually punishes and gives second chances for redemption. When he executes someone they deserve it!!!!! They do not show if he has mercy on their families by association. Since he is a young Emperor no one was taking him seriously! It is very rare to see an Emperor so young in C dramas unless they take the throne at end of drama. We assume HEA with their beloved. But in reality i do not think we normally see them as Emperors throughout a drama because they normally have been married off young and have multiple wives and concubines. They have kids. Not because they want it because it is their duty as emperor. This is so refreshing as it seems that he has lived chastely and been secretly in love with her for years. He only wants her regardless of status. I know they will try but I think he will refuse concubines and multiple wives etc. Not just because of love but because of the snakes in politics who will use political marriages for power. He does not want a harem full of vipers in a snake pit. I did not know this but sometime in history there was a time in Chinas history that after first born son was born they executed the mother immediately! Meaning the Empress! Because they did not want maternal families of Crown Princes coming into power! Can you imagine!!! That is sooooo unusual to see. Which is why he probably really wanted to play this character. Normally you do not see a young seated emperor coming into power falling in love with one woman in a C drama. My guess is that scene where he is flogged was probzbly because he broke the law about bedding a servant and refused to give her up. He probzbly took the punishment so he could be with her.
I have decided if even with SVIP we only get one episode a day until Express I am going to wait to binge watch from episode 20 till end. It is so hard to watch this kind of storyline and wait everyday lol Without 2 episodes a day it is hard to watch. Also since even the actors don't know ending I am not so sure they will choose the HEA ending. My heart can't take it!
