all about lily chou-chou portrays the fragility of youth. young people looking for a sense of belonging and escape their pain on the internet. film explores their struggles, their tensions and sacrifices they make.
For those who liked this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 'All about Lily Chou-Chou' 2001 directed by Shunji Iwai. Although…
all about lily chou-chou definately stands out. the film's overtone of lonesomeness and isolation, the surrealism and symbolism the calming bits of melancholic bliss, all make it a captivating experience.
bleak night deals not only with the dark side of teenage friendship but more importantly with emotional neglect in childhood, as a necessary part in someone's upbringing. no or limited emotional interactions between the parent and the child shape social dysfunctioning in one's adult life and has devastating effects.gi tae's father was largely absent from his son's life, totally unaware and ignorant about his sons struggles. i was deeply touched by lee je hoon's performance and impressed by his impeccable asking skills. his performance as gi tae was heart wrenching and made me feel compassion for him. the lack of music, simplicity and genuine performances represent emotions in a way that is true to life.
journey to the shore focuses on two gay high school boys burdened with internalized homophobia, guilt and fear to face the brutal intolerances in the world. this short film delivers a strong message and a trigger warning. "everyday bullied teens give up the urge to live." queer teens need support and need to feel encouraged. main actors performances are authentic and true to life and shots are beautifully taken.
"things have changed, right?"said the girl with a heavy sense of irony to make fun of her classmate for being gay.sadly, things haven't changed at all and this pierces my heart with pain.
Wow... as I watched I felt like I was intruding their private conversations but I couldn't help but stay for more…
What you sais just hit me in the feels ,you're absolutely right such authentic bold and raw dialogues. Each women within her complexity captures simplicity and honesty
Am I the only one who ship Dong Eun with Park Yeon Jin's husband ? 🤣 the tension between them is pretty obvious…
Honestly,I don't want DongEun to be with anyone,I'd like to see her focus entirely on her plan. Something I love about this series is that it has no ML,but a strong FL.

Do-Young is a very interesting character in my opinion because he is neither on his wife's side or DongEun's.. I really want to see what he's going to do or how far he'll go. Because if he truly have feelings for DongEun that could possibly put his child in danger. Jung Sung Il is a very good actor and can't deny the fact that he is a very handsome man, I'm a guy but I must admit he's charming.🤣

Oh no,you're not the only one,I thought the exact same thing. I believe deep down he wish she enjoyed his company like he enjoyed hers. That their game was not only part of her plan but another way for them to communicate.

yess! Exactly. There's definately something between them, they're nervous around each other this awkward silence they share and the way they look at each other
This got me into some deep thinking. When you embark on a journey of revenge you only find violence, not clarity or true peace. If you think about it--revenge is barren of itself: it is the dreadful food it feeds on,its end is despair. Will liberation come for DongEun?
