This is mostly just way too many episodes of let's see how much we can torture the seventh prince. So far, anyway. I still have some eps left. The sets, wardrobes, music, etc are all lovely, but the storyline isn't as great. Could have been better with a tighter script/less episodes. Started off good. What became the nearly unrelenting abuse/harassment hurled towards Nan Heng grew sickening. Especially the drugging and SA against him that was casually dismissed as nothing. I probably wouldn't be as irritated if the episodes were fewer and the story wasn't dragged out into the street and nearly beaten to death. Though I suppose that's somehow fitting and in a way pairs well with the ML's treatment. Also, there should be a SA warning in the tags. Most won't expect to see it in a rom-com. If anyone is wondering which episode so as to avoid it, it's episode 22.
* Okay, last 10 episodes were good. My above rant still stands, but I enjoyed the final stretch. And the beginning. Overall, I think Ji Xiang was my favorite character. He had such dry humor and the actor did well with that deadpan delivery. He was hilarious. Also, I've already mentioned this, but it's worth mentioning again: the sets/scenery, costumes are beautiful. Especially ML & FL clothes. Very pretty.
Dragged out a bit on the wrong things, but overall this was a solid watch. I would have liked more of a show and not tell when it came to building the friendship between the ML & FL. They barely interacted and suddenly one episode they're declaring each other as forever & ever besties.

Exactly. That boy needed a restraining order and perhaps a slap.
