It was good, not great. However I loved how they wrapped up things in the last episode. There were some illogical things as well (aka: "why did person x not just do this instead") but overall I liked it. It was violent at times but not as horrible as some people describe it here. Sometimes my impression is that many people on this page shouldn't watch a show like this which is intended for adults, if they are not, and then complain about violence they cannot cope with. This is not a romantic K-drama and Netflix clearly states it's for ages 16 and up.
Fantastic! You need to watch this at the Japanese Film Festival Online as long as it's available, it's so comforting and so well done. What a wonderful film about youth and the pleasure of filmmaking as well!
The final episode had two really lovely scenes, the confession (finally…) and the dialogue „this is the happiest moment in my life“ and a short scene of them both waking up in arms saying „I love you“ to each other. This brought tears to my eyes.Unfortunately the final episode couldn’t save the whole series which started so strong and then fell flat with no development over the majority of episodes, with the biggest issues being able to say „I like you“ to someone who already confessed and who is a childhood friend. This was too unrealistic and frustrating to me, also the „kiss“ if you can tell it one (…). Main leads were really cute.Overall 6/10 - J-BL can do a bit better.
I like Japanese BLs very much but recently in so many shows there's always someone so timid to even say "I like you" for most episodes of a series which is so unrealistic. Episode 7 was a bit frustrating. I was already fearing that we get the typical one-episode-before-the-finale-something-bad-happens thing, well, not to a big extent but here we are. So episode 8 gives us 20 minutes to fix everything up. I'd really love to see a J-BL show where the main couple is happy for at least 50% of the time and celebrating their love instead of 10 minutes at the end...
Just watched and finished Bad Buddy for the first time ever. Such a great series. I loved it. The two leads Ohm and Nanon were awesome. In love with especially Nanon now ;D I wasn't 100% satisfied with the last episode though, but it was okay. Another thing I could criticise was the sound. There were parts where there was really always loud music playing, in every scene. Not necessary. 9/10 for me, almost perfect and a pretty high rewatch value.
Well, that was it. I somehow liked it, otherwise I wouldn't have watched it completely. The acting was pretty awkward but somehow also cute. It was much too long. So much dragging and for a couple of episodes basically absolutely nothing was happening except pork blood soup eating. They sat next to the porkblood soup stand on the rooftop and scenes of the past were repeated in slow motion in every episode, they watched the stars, episode over. The very thin story could have been told in maximum 6 episodes. No spice, no real kiss, no chemistry between the main leads. Not really a BL from my pov. More like a campy vampire friendship story. YourMood's character saved a lot for me, he was funny and quirky. The ending was not very satisfying for a BL viewer. Overall, it was fun at times but that's it. More like targeted towards children. A generous 5.5/10.
That was really cool. 6 episodes with a nice pace, tension throughout, well-portrayed characters, solid action and CGI and a good soundtrack. I really hope season 2 will come. I would be surprised if this is not a success. 8.5/10.
This is a really cute and enjoyable show so far. Handsome actors and the main leads act so cute together. I love it so far. And episode 5 seems to give us some more classic J-BL fluffiness scenes, can't wait!
Now that I read a lot about the ending there are indeed both possible endings, according to the viewer’s imagination. For me though, I never thought of a bad ending even after the second viewing. It has a wonderful positive ending for me (and that makes only sense to me) :)
No idea how you guys often think they died in the end. i‘ve never had this impression even after watching it twice. they happily escape in the end. the director himself confirmed that they survived (see links somewhere below) ☺️
After watching this gem for the first time in June 2023 at the Filmfest Munich which was a worldwide premiere I think, I went to see it again with my mom when it has finally been released in cinemas nationwide in Germany this late March (almost a year later…). I left the cinema in tears again, it‘s so emotional for me.
I was again so flashed with this movie. It is perfect in everything, from the intelligent storytelling to the music, cinematography, with fantastic, wonderful actors. This is my personal favorite movie of 2023 and will be in my top alltime list. Don’t miss this one! 10/10.
Loved it. Finally some mature BL again with a good short storyline, handsome actors and also great chemistry between the main leads. Real mature realistic relationship. The distancing thing was a bit unnecessary but I already expected something like that for episode 5 as the 4th ended almost too happily. 8.5/10.
Handsome boys but unfortunately I just didn’t feel it even after 8 episodes. Some unnecessary behavioural changes, like screaming and a few minutes later all is forgotten. Background stories were not really done well, eg I would have loved to learn more about the brother‘s story and what happened. Seheon and Doyoon would have been the better match, they had a lot of chemistry as best friends in the show (and Doyoon is sooooo handsome 😍) Not more than 6/10 from me.
Very well filmed, great cinematography and actors, but ultimately more than disappointing. This was not what I was expecting. 8 episodes that always gave me a feeling "next episode something important will happen" and it never came. It just ended, like the first episode started. This was definitely not a BL, but a show about friendship and (hidden) feelings. 5/10.
Two episodes in and I really love it so far. Cannot understand the low rating atm. It's a funny Thai BL that I loved to watch some years ago with not so much s*x and not too professionally done, but with a lot of cute scenes! BUT - pork blood (!) soup is really a no-go and they seem to eat it in every episode :D
Okay, final episode was a bit over the top and felt rushed. DFF had a promising first episode, some difficult following ones and many fantastic episodes in the middle that played in the past. Non / Barcode is fantastic. Also Jin / Copper, and Phee / Ta but I have to admit that I always love Copper. Lowlight was the actor playing "Top", this guy really needs to go to an acting school. Emotions all too overacted like crazy. It's not a children's show, so people complaining about sex and violence on screen are maybe too young to watch it. It's not a classic lovey lovey Thai BL but a mystery / horror show with BL elements in it. Overall 7.5 out of 10 as it could have been a bit better and needed a more interesting conclusion. Maybe the show should've ended with episode 11 instead of this crazy last one. But I'm fine with it. Looking forward to the next show by BOC!
Cute show, lovely ending. Although I expected a little bit more from the last episode and then suddenly it was already over. The episodes are too short to really tell a story with a background. 7.5/10 overall.
Thank you for this wonderful review full of words that perfectly describe this gorgeous short I just watched. I loved it and reading your words is like watching it again. It‘s really a compelling work of art I can only recommend everyone to see if you can!
