On Marriage, Not Dating Apr 27, 2022
Genuinely funny and likeable. No big budget, no star studded cast, but all the more enjoyable. Lighthearted and easygoing drama. ML is great in this role. FL lead is not too prim or acting cute, just authentic and herself. There are some draggy moments toward the end, but overall I didn't need to do much skipping. The FL's family is unusually sympathetic. I liked 2AM's Jung Jin Woon as the second ML, somehow he fits this drama.
Eps 13 and 14 are rushed and the drama is not taking time to develop the storylines in depth. One would expect a multiseason series to have solid direction and not just random twists. The first season took time to give insight to each character, even the cheating husbands. The whole series went down the drain with the introduction of the ghosts and Ji-A's grandma going mad. I don't think we'll ever understand why those plots were introduced. And will we ever learn Seo Ban's secret? And pregnancy at 50, why is there a choice like that? And why the fart joke which wasn't even funny or a joke? Why introduce a new storyline with the maids when there's a lot of characters already?

Maybe you haven't watched Just Between Lovers? Junho's already proven his skills for acting complicated and troubled…
what a lovely pic! I guess it depends what we've seen earlier - many just feel feel better with romcoms after being through hard times (am watching Marriage Not Dating and loving it). Junho will have many other roles after this chaebol one.

I swear sometimes it feels like the director and the editor quit halfway through the show and they got some interns…
Yes, I think the writer has read our comments that we want SPY and LSE have a happy ending and now she's giving it but ruining it. The drama is so crazy and random now, what a disappointment

Episode 13 flowers go to Ji-A the scene between her and SYS was amazing!! She spoke her truth letting him know…
They were concerned. And Ban wanted the kids to be present on the wedding night. Maybe we'll never get answers though. Ban did say he never could stand anyone touching him. But I doubt that the secret will be revealed. Nothing makes sense.

Title Thirty-Nine
Does anyone know any drama where the story is centered on male friendship?
I realized that there are many more frenemies k-dramas (from enemies to friends and vice versa) like My Country or Bad Guys than male friendship k-dramas.

Prison Playbook is really good if you haven't watched it. Record of Youth is strong on this aspect.

People from all over world watch it on Netflix. It doesn't even have to be aired in domestic tv.
It's bc they left Russia. I'd gladly pay much more. Stock value is largely imaginary. I know not many people are on Netflix yet but I don't expect that those who are will ever return to domestic media. Netflix knows the amount of watchers but does not tell.

Once again I found the MDL rating was pretty accurate. I agree with the previous comments and only add that the politics parts were extremely boring. I was skipping most of the last 10 (!) episodes. Sukkie is such a delightful actor, he's untouched by the mess that the drama turns out to be. Just continuing to do his thing light-heartedly and not despairing at any point (this is a compliment!). Kang Sora is always very good, really. And Park Hae Jin always shines when portraying ambivalent characters. I made it to the end because of them.

Low rating during airing in Korea doesn't matter these days. I don't get why the domestic rating is still considered important. People from all over the world watch it in Netflix and it's one that has prob one of the most engaged fanbases.

Am sure it's going to be pretty epic. The writers had a multiseasons drama already outlined, that much was very clear from the first season already. We're sad about the delay, but there's a huge fanbase for this series and am more than happy to get to finally see new seasons. The replacements are very good. Lee Joon Gi will be able to pull the Saya part with flying colours. It's a very difficult role. I also love Shin Se Kyung, she never disappoints. Another perfect choice, hope she agrees. It was clear that SJK wouldn't continue. But am happy see that people are finally giving credit now to his out-of-this-world acting as Eunseom/Saya, it will forever remain a grand role. I hope that the Taelha actress returns along with Jang Dong Gun, they were both fantastic in their roles. And that the last of the Neanthals storyline will not be dropped, it's sad but beautiful and metaphoric.
