Priceless indie craziness. Bloody & funny, nothing serious, nothing truly scary. Perhaps could even become a future cult gem.

Completely agree, the writing is immensely good. I love the brewery crew and their interactions. Also enjoying the funny moments. This is definitely 9/10 drama for me. But MDL ratings are always low for c-noir dramas and I've ceased to pay any attention since people always sleep on the greatest c-dramas.

It IS over the top. She was much better in Dear X. Therefore I blame the director. He was also the director of Wonderfools, where everyone was pushed into over the top acting (even Park Eun Bin).
I'm really disappointed in how unserious this drama becomes because of the overacting. I was hoping after countless disappointments for one serious historical k-drama. Historical not histrionic.

Intriguing and gripping mystery and crime drama. Exceptionally well written. Definitely watching this until the end (am at ep 4). I'm not the biggest fan of ML's acting but that doesn't matter much as the plot is plotting.

This is about a building project where leaders of a factory switch good materials into inferior ones, causing big accidents and the deaths of ML's and FL's (brother and sister) father and mother. The plot will be about gathering evidence to bring down the antagonists. The family tragedy is from the secrets of the mother.

Nothing very special, I watched the first 3 episodes. Might finish this, unless the other dramas starting this week are better. One of the weakest Light On / IQIYI suspense theatre dramas I've seen. Do not expect romance, or if you do, you're going to be very disappointed indeed.

Wrapped up nicely. What an absolute gem this was! Missing it already. 9/10

A real hidden gem. Youth and friendship drama in the tragic realism vein. The murder cases are just a background, this is not a cop drama. Everything is perfectly thought out and controlled: the bittersweet ambiance, coloring, background music, pacing, acting. Immense psychological depth. The characters' actions and emotions are not necessarily easy to understand, portraying a difficult balancing between friendship and co-dependence. The last episode made me cry, although it was also bright and optimistic. 9/10

The characters start out as competitors but gradually learn the power of collaboration and teamwork. This is a talkative drama with intelligent dialogues. The law cases are interesting but not depressing. The mentor - newbie relationships and talks are especially giving. All Rise is sympathetic but not overly sugary, which I appreciate. The romance aspects were not to my liking, and luckily were not a big part of the drama until the last episodes. I watched this slowly, about 1 ep per day. I felt that this allowed me to get max enjoyment out of the drama without getting bored. The open ending was a very good choice, imo. A lot of care and consideration went into writing the drama and ending it like this. I particularly liked Zhou Yi Ran's acting. 8.0/10

The first 15 episodes are exciting and suspense filled. We slowly learn that ML is actually a triple agent. The last 10 or so episodes have things going round in circles. Wish this had been 10 eps shorter. I had to finish this though, bc I liked Huang Xiao Ming as ML a lot and had to know whether ML succeeded in his mission. The slight romance between ML and Karlina Zhang was sweet. Although I can't rate this higher than 7.5. this is a worthwhile historical drama to watch.

He's a double agent (for communists) in Awaken

Am finding this absolutely brilliant. The bubbling under humour, the aesthetics, enniodelica as bgm, Esther. Already a classic. Hope it stays this way - I watched the 9 first eps in one sitting (less than 30 mins each). For friends of the Long Season.

"Every fan" lol. Should I leave MDL bc I don't watch these type of dramas? pls stop assuming that everyone has the same taste. (I think this is purposefully meant to irritate as writer has read the earlier criticisms).
