If you are looking to see romantic and sexual chemistry, watch this show right away.
Easter Egg: I swear in episode 23 when they are kissing and she pushes him off the bed: Wang Anyu has a hard on and that is why he pulls his sweatshirt down. Not once but twice to cover a specific bulge in his pants ;)
At Episode 20. Still way more interested in Pei Yan and Jiang Ci's love story than with the ML. Chemistry is a weird thing. The way the second ML is possessive and protective of her hits different. It doesn't help that he is the brooding kind.
So my baby Kim Se Jeong has learned how to kiss and how, huh! Great makeout scene with the ML in second last episode, kudos :) I remember School 2017 days when I had to be happy with a peck on the cheek.
Bro she was 26 years old when she filmed that drama... Her character was 22 in the drama so the difference is…
Yo "Bro" - Doesn't matter if she was 26 when she filmed (Too lazy to fact check). The fact is she is 26 acting to be 22 and the MLs are same age as her and acting 30, showing a decade gap between her and MLs, which just doesn't fly. They don't look much older than her and she surely doesn't look like a college girl. - Management company? Profit? Are unbelievable, artificial age gaps generation between the 2 leads the only way to guarantee the series success? Once is a co-incidence, Twice is a pattern. So if you don't believe she is proactively making such choices, I also have a bridge in China to sell to you. - Thank you for issuing a certificate for my fandom from your Fandom accreditation institute. Clearly whoever doesn't meet your expectations of being cloying to an actor cannot appreciate their acting. I saw your profile. You don't have much there apart from promoting Yang Zi dramas. You are not a fan, you are probably obsessed and cannot be objective anyways. (Yes, that's me issuing certificates from my Internet Troll accreditation institute. Doesn't feel nice to be on receiving end of such fake institutes, right?).
Yang Zi Yang Zi, my girl: Wassup with acting with MLs who are the same age as you but you are the college girl and a decade younger than them? (Go Go Squid, The Oath of Love) As good of an actress you are, you don't look like a college girl any more. And especially don't look much younger to those MLs who are the same age as you. Change this gimmick. Even Song Hye Kyo is acting her age. Time for you to adapt to that too.
I have read that the FL gets bad rep for her acting chops but she is good here. She might not be that great in acting but she manages to generate a lot of chemistry with Xu Kai and kisses well. Thats what I am here for anyways :)
Don't like the beginning plot. A girl dressed as a man is captivated by some pirate who realizes she is female…
Actually this is factually incorrect. She (not he) tries to make him drunk and seduce him. But ends up getting drunk herself and sleeps with him. You should not take all agency away from the FL to inaccurately portray the ML as the bad guy in that particular scene.
Perfect catnip for romance seekers like me. The leads had so much chemistry! I honestly don't care about the plot holes (and SJWs) if the chemistry is on fire. These leads film like they are on a date and act in this series while taking a break from their date. Also, if you want to double down on the feels, just watch the BTS videos on YouTube. Gawd. He is shy, quiet and so protective of her. She is beautiful and bubbly. And they both are into each other, figuratively and literally!
I was going to wacth it, for the healthy relationship you talk about. But then I read this comment:"The FL irritates…
That particular comment is too harsh on the FL. Both the ML and the FL actually are guilty of hiding stuff, but they generate enough chemistry on screen as a loved up couple to make it a one time romance watch.
This one gave me same vibes as 'Put your head on my shoulder'. Both the leads definitely looked very fond of each other and the hugs felt absolutely real. Good one for romance watchers.
One gripe: I really don't think they communicated well. Hid most of the tough things from each other. One can see it in the light of being self-sacrificing . I just saw it as a major red flag for a couple getting married.
It's interesting you interpret SML's feelings for the FL as sincere. The reason I couldn't root for him in this…
Fair. I can see how his love was more obsessive rather than driven by what the FL stands for. Also, the dude had 3 years to live. Why bother marrying the FL and fighting for the crown, SMH. But the ML exhibited similar / slightly bigger scale problems than him, thats why the SML was at par for me (and his sculpted jaw bone doesn't hurt at all).
Enjoyed the subtle romance in glances, micro gestures and cried buckets at the heart-wrenching scenes. However cannot help but feel that the SML was just as admirable as the ML. - SML was always sincere in his feelings for the FL and did something about it. Unlike the ML who played the pseudo boy-friend but handed the FL on a platter to someone else without even trying to keep her with him. SML worked really hard for her despite all odds. - SML was a self-made person as well despite court politics, his bad health, being all alone without family support etc. etc. - Good that they did not let the ML and FL have kisses. It was a student-teacher relationship yo! The dialogue in the series got to me: "Once a teacher, always a father". Also, the fact that all the tragedy could have been avoided if the FL just accepted the SML and supported his quest for being the Emperor. By default the ML would have then supported the SML and chill pill. I normally never get SML syndrome, but here I did. I saw too many moral failings in the ML.
When the romance picked up at 1/3 into the episodes: this series had some really hot kisses and ML being into the FL's physical space stuff. Then these just disappeared for the last 5 episodes . What happened? Did they freaking get censored while airing? The ML was conveying the vibes of being ready to jump the FL's bones nicely. That made me plough through the series. But all I get is disappointment in the last 5 episodes. Ugghhh.
Hi! I started watching this because everyone is praising the main couple and their chemistry. Now I have watched…
Rule of thumb for romance dramas: Romance starts 1/3 into the series. At 2/3 point they have misunderstandings and they drift away only to meet in the last 1-3 episodes. This one is no exception. The romance picks up around episode 9. Good thing they never drift away post that. However, I recommend ploughing through the first 10 episodes for this series. Because Eddie Peng's one sided romance and glances are oh-so-awesome.
If you are a fan of the Zombie genre, give this one a try without any doubt.
This series is set apart by the fantastic job done by the ML, Takeuchi Ryoma. He brings Hibiki Mamiya to life as a thinking, evolving and may I add, breathtakingly good looking character. Everybody else came across like stereotypical characters reading off a script: expressionless SML and Blank SFL (who seem to love the main leads only because the script asked them to), mad genius villain and the damsel-in-distress FL. Got to admit, the FL was a letdown. This series is meant to be a love story set in Zombie apocalypse. So why is all the love emanating from the ML? Did they screen test the FL only on looks? ML generated so much intensity as Hibiki, the FL just did not keep up. Never mind, its worth watching just for Ryoma. And while I am at it, let me massage those wide shoulders for you Ryoma. It must hurt to carry this entire series solely on them.

Hot! So freaking HOT in spite of no explicit scenes. The ML nailed it. His foot kissing left me breathless and his dog acting scene should find itself in the annals for K-drama history. I personally don't like the FL so much generally but here she was casted very well. Her dour face worked well as a Dom. ML & FL had a lot of physical chemistry. The plot was so delicate to handle but the execution made no mistakes. Fifty shades of grey got nothing on you. Take a bow Love & Leashes team!
