On Mook Liam Petch May 26, 2020
I want to watch this but I'm worried about the gang rape tag. Can someone please tell me any spoilers about it? Thanks

In point number 5, are you talking about the gang rape? I want to watch this but I'm worried about the gang rape…
Ok thanks!

Surprisingly good and different. I will try not to spoil it too much but here are a few reasons why you might…

Review Rugal
Yes, sadly this doesn't get better. In fact, it gets worse. I watched without expectations and i was still impressed…
Oh that's understandable, I would definitely be upset if my favourite webtoon was adapted into a mess like this. I can't believe they would do the female characters dirty like that tho. I don't regret dropping this.

Review Rugal Spoiler

I was really hoping the girl on the team would not be a love interest for the ML. They had a scene where she was asked if she was interested in him and she said no shes the one who introduced the ML to his wife. It made her look cool so I'm disappointed that they decided to scratch that completely. (urgh I cringed when I read about that chip implant)

The female antagonist I could not take seriously at all. In the scene were her husband was killed in front of her, I was so confused I thought she was in on it because her acting seemed so fake?? But apparently that really was her in distress...

And yea I could tell the story was lacking any sort of depth. I guess this kind of story where the ML gets overly powerful only works in animes. I should probably just stick to the webtoon.

Review Rugal Spoiler
Ah I'm only on episode 3 and I already feel the same way!

I just don't understand why they choose the main character for this role in Rugal when he's so overly emotional, uncooperative and immature (hopefully there was an actual reason?). And the all-talk-but-no-show thing they got going on here definitely got old real quick. They kept showing (or more like telling) us he's this real badass guy whose supposed to be really strong but he got his ass whooped like 5 times already??

All the characters definitely feel very 2 dimensional so far. I was really trying to give them a chance to grow as characters but I'm not feeling anything for them at all. Unfortunately, with a cast that's as good as this the acting (which I was shocked to find was bad and cringey at times) couldn't save such poorly written characters. The whole story also just seems very disconnected and the high tech stuff doesn't make sense or its just not explained properly. I agree with you that everything here is solely based on the "rule of cool".

Because I went in with such high expectations this one really was a big let down for me. I'm really disappointed because I think this drama could have had a lot of potential if it had been developed properly. I was really hoping for it to be a badass sci-fi drama with a good story. Unfortunately, its not and so I think I will be dropping this. Thanks for your review!

Hey thanks for the link to this, its a great list! Most of these are on my PTW but of these I've seen Border (which I really liked! Do you have any recommendations for something with a similar vibe + supernatural element?) and Mr. Brain (I was one of those who couldn't take it too seriously but still enjoyed it). I started watching Hero and Bloody Monday but thought they were a bit too slow for me so didn't continue. But maybe I'll give them another chance. I'm off to go watch Dele now!

As a fan of whodunit dramas, I thoroughly enjoyed this article. Especially loved those captions (those are my exact thoughts during those times too)! I've only seen a couple of the dramas you mentioned but I've definitely added the others to my PTW. After many years of watching this genre, I feel like I can guess pretty accurately who the bad guys are. Sometimes it's the person they make you least expect/suspect which makes me suspect them even more (if that makes any sense lol)

Nice article! I haven't seen any of these but I've now added most of them to my PTW list. Didn't add Gonjiam since I'm not a fan of horror so I really appreciated the "recommended for/not recommended" for section. Looking forward to part 2 :)

Thank you for this article! Honestly, this was on my PTW lists forever but after this article I think I'm actually going to give it a shot. (I'm also on a Japanese drama watching streak right now so this is perfect :))

I'm trying to vote that I found this review helpful but I think there is a bug that's not letting me rn. But I just recently finished watching this too and these were my thoughts exactly! Really hoping there will be a longer and more fleshed out second season.
