For someone who used to live in the dark and alone, having someone from the light will make him becomes his best side. Just like having hope. So for BCF, WXS is his hope and morality, while LC has his heart. That's why in his hallucination, WXS died while LC is with another man.

The perpetrator is revealed in ep 28 👍🏻 of course it's not BCF. Even from ep 21, it's obvious it's not him. Too many differences in every aspect.
