If you could hold on until ep 21 then keep going. The flow got slower in the middle, and it's boring, but the fillers gave some characters development too. if you like this kind of drama or any of the main leads, don't stop watching.

The irony: she's the empress but she keeps seeing other man, while the emperor loves other woman 😂 can these two couples just leave the palace and live as commoners? 🙄

Anyway I do agree Xu Kaicheng and Chen Xiaoyun must do other romance drama. They have great chemistry and they match well off screen too.

The writer created her to humanize the emperor. This ignorant, selfish emperor didn't care about the feelings of people around him. He only took things as: interesting or boring. But Tilan's kindness made him realize that what he did all this time was a mistake. That the painful past is in the past and he needs to move on and stops being a jerk. The emperor we're seeing now is different from he used to be. He became rational and reasonable, unlike Jianming who won't bother to explain anything. If Tilan wasn't there in the picture, we will see the jerk emperor who tries to steal Haishi and we won't see the beautiful brotherhood between him and Jianming.

Every time I see ministers in dramas, I want to force them to swallow rats. They always complain, accuse, blame others. Either their brain is corrupted or their heart is corrupted. Did they become ministers by money, family name and connections? 🤦‍♀️ they were part of the reasons why dynasties collapsed.

I appreciate the character development of the emperor. He didn't keep the girls in the dark. He explained everything to them to avoid misunderstanding. He is a good emperor who cares for his country and the people, but he was ignorant, selfish and didn't care about feelings and how he was hurting people. Like he said, since he lost Zizan, he became a walking corpse, no heart. Tilan made him human again. Now he became a reasonable, caring and affectionate man 👍🏻

While Jianming was a wall with no door. Haishi keeps swinging her hammer, axe, and other weapons she has to break down this wall. The wall has collapsed, but it creates an illusion as if it's still stand tall. May Haishi be able to break this illusion too 🙏

My number one ship is still Zhuoying and Haishi 😆
