There is English subs on the Cambodia or Vietnamese versions. However, I need to watch content in their original audio soundtracks. I will take the subs from the Vietnamese videos and time align them with the HK version.
Started this drama on Tubi, I almost dropped it because the first episode was pretty brutal to get through. However, it does start to pick up, and you slowly start to grow on the characters. The male and female leads in this drama are great. Female lead was 43 in this drama and she looks amazing. Didn't know there was four other "sequels" (more anthology) with the same main actors.
This movie could have been legendary with a few minor adjustments. The plot on MDL doesn't really explain the movie well.
Below is a plot, I think. Without spoiling much which makes more sense:
The male lead is a washed-up Japanese action hero. He created his own style of martial arts "Assassination Jitsu" using a technique he calls the 'wave' (reminds me of how Bruce Lee used to talk about being 'water' all of the time). Ten years after his rise to fame, being washed up, working on film sets as support leads. He seems to get this "vision" or idea on how to show his fans what he can do and the movie he can make. A producer he knows gives him an idea for a cheap location on where to shoot the movie. While scouting at this location, he comes across two Yakuza families having a dispute and things only get worse...
Pros: - Psychological Thriller (Memento/Vanilla Sky) - Great action scenes - Male Lead acting was solid (until the end) - Director
Cons: - Cheesy action scenes (only if they kept all of the action scenes great, like John Wick) - Plot could use a few tweaks - Ending
Found this movie on a random Russian site and made subs. IDK why but I enjoy Mahjong drama/manga/movies/etc. Doesn't matter if its Japanese or Chinese, I love the gambling vibe these stories give off. I don't even know the rules of Riichi Mahjong all that well.
I give them about a 6 to a 7, maybe a 7.5 for a 00 era Japanese movie could work. There are two more movies for this set (the 2010 set). Only thing I am not a fan of is how the male lead is married and appears to be taking in "concubines" or lesser wives along the way (while helping or working with them). Don't get me wrong 'Tiger Mao' (who I think is the female lead but doesn't show up until episode 10) is stunning and I understand having more than one wife back then was common. I'd just prefer to see the male lead ensure his main wife was 'okay' with it before he decides on his own that he's taking in another 1 or 2 wives. Only because of how his main wife supported his childish behavior early on in the drama.
I am loving this series. Huge fan of the type of humor in this series. Don't want to spoil anything but thus far I would recommend for comedy drama fans.

I have the subs for the 36-episode series but can't find the videos. I can only find the 33-episode version of the series. Sadly the 33-episode version IS NOT compatible with the subs for the 36-episode version. If anyone knows where the 36-episode version is, I can easily apply the subs to the videos.
I saw this movie pop up on my usual 'free media' website I use and because am stuck in a blizzard. Decided to relax and watch a movie, instead of making subtitles. I gave the movie a 6.1, I think. It wasn't terrible, nor do I think it was low budget for its genre, but I feel like it doesn't have a great "rewatch" value.
This is a mixed blend of comedy with a splash of thriller elements. The male lead was good and so was the antagonist. However, as the movie seemed mostly "comedy" wise. There were only a few moments where I smiled. Nothing like a Stephen Chow or Sammo Hung movie.
- Subtitles aren't great but good enough to where you can watch and figure things out. - The first episode is the last video in the playlist, which should be the 15th video. (the video with the most views in the playlist) - The channel creator merged episodes, cut intro and outros, etc. which is why there is only '15' videos. I'd roughly suggest each video is about 2 episode each.
For some reason, this is very common. People will take tv series, chop them up, merge them and then use their own "title" for the videos. It can get a bit confusing when you're trying to figure out what the drama actually is.
For some reason I am not a fan of "transitional" dramas. When a country or timeframe is undertaking major changes from one era to the next. Maybe because it tends to have too much political aspects that ruin the series for me. I did like the historical parts, but I started to lose interest around episode nine (too).

First episode I really enjoyed. I am also a huge sucker for these older series. I find the female actresses' more attractive in their 00's era appearances.
I am a huge fan and sucker for older JDRAMA's (90s, 80s, 70s, 60s) so my rating for this series might be higher than others due to my biased to enjoying them over modern series. Plus, I had to read Renzaburo Shibata's novel when I was studying Japanese in Osaka.
If you enjoy Japanese History and/or Samurai lore, this would be worth watching. I do also vaguely recall a three-hour special made in the 90s for the novel, if I can find it, I will make a post about it just encase people would rather watch an abridged version.
This is different, at first I thought it was some space invaders wuxia series because they dress as if they're Power Rangers (Super Sentai). There's only ten episodes from what I can tell, not twenty.
First episode kept me entertained, from the plot to the costumes to the visual effects. I definitely recommend watching the first episode at least. Then you can tell people how you watched this very strange mortal kombat power rangers wuxia show.
Not sure if I will watch the entire series but I will run my Cantonese script for the remaining nine episodes (my Cantonese v1.1 script is 10x better then the basic ai scripts outthere but probably has a 8% margin of error). I just won't run my "PTT" script afterwards as that requires heavy GPU usage and time.
