MBC updated their code, so I had to spend time figuring out how to download full episodes again. I eventually figured it out but it drained me as I stayed up for almost 35 hours figuring it out. It would make the process easier if someone could create an account for me that has a Korean cell phone number, that activates it. So if anyone ever can give me a MBC account that's been activated with a Korean phone number. I would be pumping out subtitles like flies on 💩
I started a side subtitle project, where I make English subtitles for Chinese Dramas that don't have any English subs from certain years. I randomly picked 2013 and then filtered the most popular drama's via a (mainland) Chinese video site. This was ranked 6th but the main reason why I picked this because the user below (Kadiance) suggested this is a "pick me up" drama.
They are 110% correct! This show is great if you're in a poor/bored/down mood.
This show also is the first show where I have to create a custom script to fine tune my PTT model for making subtitles. The translation script works fine that's not the problem as I fined tuned that for months. The issue here is there are many scenes where the actors talk very fast and say so much within such a short time frame (part of the shows humor). This causes my current script to basically get confused and doesn't know what to do because it thinks it's impossible to 'say that much' in 'X amount of time'.
I will slowly tweak my code to create a new model to handle such drama's but for now my subs might have 1-3 dropped lines and/or 1-4 lines of too much text. It's not a huge deal. Be sure to add me as a friend to watch this show and get updates on the subs.

Yes! I was cleaning my computer and came across the first 10 episodes of this, when I subbed them (when there was no subs). I was so happy to find out it was on Amazon Prime now (today) with English Subs.

Always surprised how people don't use the TVB Anywhere site/app. They have a solid collection of movies/shows with English subtitles. (if you're a fan of HK style material)

Agree, love how the director shot this movie and 'mostly' used a single movie studio set with very limited soundtrack music. I feel like most people don't notice when movies (or shows too) are filmed like this, how important the acting and directing becomes. To keep the viewers engaged without it becoming boring or cringe.
This movie also felt a bit more realistic in terms of what people dealt with back in the 60's. Let alone the sad ending, as real life (for most people) tends to be more sad/rough than rainbows and butterflies. Makes me wonder if this movie (story) is based on true events or personal accounts of someone tied to the production of the film.
i'm only on episode 7 right now, so far there is romantic 'bonds' being created. not sure how much actual romance will be in the series as the previews also suggest the main male/female leaders who like/love each other. keep getting torn apart due to 'ill fate'.

Making subs for this and so far this series reminds me of a 1950 era Iljimae, sort of. I would caution people to know that there are some scene's in this drama, that might cause trauma. Some of these scenes would not be filmed today. I don't mind the harsh reality of what it might have been like in a 1950 era Korea. As the kotjebi (beggars) are trying to survive.
Has a good amount of actors you should notice, that are in modern kdrama's today.
Tried to find this one but it's tough. There is a Taiwanese DVD titled ( 一枝梅) and possibly another title (怪侠一枝) but couldn't find anything. Hoped to at least find the Chinese video's for this but nothing so far...
