Started interesting, but didn't live up the hype. A little confused on something's
Spoilers ahead: I just finished the show, it’s a solid 7.5/10. I liked the majority of characters, but, of course, all of them had flaws, and that's the point of the show: to watch them grow. However, we don't really see them develop as well as they could've. My favorite character is U Yeon, as I love how we got to see her grow. However, we also get to see that one doesn't magically gain confidence; in one of the later episodes, a conflict arises due to her insecurities. It was kind of refreshing to see because self-confidence is something you have to work on for a lifetime, especially if you have parents who constantly bring you down like U-Yeon. I also really liked the different themes for the art club and how each episode had different sets and costumes, very fun to watch. Also, I didn't really understand the romance between Mint Finger and Blue Finger. So, she liked Blue Finger since middle school, but got heartbroken in high school because of some guy, making her swear off love, even though she still had feelings for Blue Finger deep down inside. Maybe I missed some context since I didn't read the manhwa, but this is basically what I gathered from the last two episodes, since they randomly sprinkled in the fact that she had feelings for Blue Finger since middle school. I liked the MLS character for the most part, although I can admit that at times he was annoyingly pushy. But I do have a grievance because I didn't really like how he called her ugly for no reason when he was playing hard to get in episode 6. I know his character is supposed to be childish, but he can be childish without being so weird. He knows one of U Yeon's biggest insecurities is about how she looks, which is just bad writing, because he isn't supposed to like and respect her. Also, towards the end, the writing became really messy; I feel like it should've been at least two more episodes or something. It makes no sense for U Yeon's parents to change that quickly and suddenly become so understanding of their kids, especially the dad. I would also have liked to see a bit of U-yeon's senior year and how she continues to grow into herself beautifully, I feel like it would've been a better conclusion to the show. Was this review helpful to you?
