Exactly- although in reality, a lawyer with Yun's calibre having secrets with a thug boss could hardly ever end well 😅

this is always how dramas do it though?
No Gain No Love did this. The secondary couple got more screentime during the second half of the drama romance wise (and even a 2 episode spin off) - tbf i wasn't that invested in the MC so that may be why I can't recall their scenes much.

Exactly! I know he is pushy at times but I can't help liking his character. Something about him is irresistible 🙈

After ep 8, I have no reason to question him. He's brilliant.

Definitely love the second couple! They seem so perfect for eachother 🤭

As for age- they are all adults - not to mention adults who are required to think seriously- so as long as it's consensual, let them be 🤷‍♀️🙂‍↔️

His ex-wife’s character is so confusing. What did she mean by if he stuck around he would’ve been the father…
Like she said, she was too immature at the time. They dated for 7 years before they got married and divorced in the 10 year mark. Even if it sounds like an excuse, she probably was the carefree type whonwent into their marriage just because of the idea of it? Kind of like the kind of influencer marriages we see on SNS? "SNS perfect+ fiery passionate" love- once harsh reality set in, she just couldn't handle it (specially since Yun's love evolved to the next step).

I'm curious to know if she ever voiced her thoughs to him before deciding to let go🤔

The baby comment was tacky and completely unnecessary. Honestly it's not worth wasting any brain cells further on her- she still sounds like a walking paradox. At least she's no longer Yun's problem (as long as she sticks to Hash's schedule) so that's something 🥲

Honestly she should just give Hash to Yun if he is able to care for him every day.

Her age is confirmed. She's 42-she said so. I meant about the SML.

We know that the FL is 28. The SML looks like he is a bit older than her. The age gap between the FL and SFL is 14 years. So assuming the SML is older than the FL, the second couple probablly has an age gap of may be 8-12 years? Definitely not greater than 14 years.

I don't understand how it can be legal for the same firm to represent both parties in a suit like this. Even if…
It seems like it is something unprecedented even in the drama's universe which is why the annoying lawyer clique feels so confident.

Whatever Yoon might be up to, it seems rather diabolical. I wonder if they will raise your concerns and show how the trick affect's Yullim's already struggling future🤔

Probably maximum 12 right? He looks a bit older than KHM but then again because she repeated her senior 3 times, it's hard to say 😅

Oh also, did they ever show the SFL and the ML joke about their seniority in the first 2 episodes? I vaguely recall a conversation where she said that eventhough she's older than him, he's her senior but idk if I'm just rememberring another drama. I mean since we know that she is definitely 42, we can at least use it as an estimate for the ML's age (since some seem to be concerned about it)🙈

Last 2eps cases made no sense all we got from them Is fl is pretty made the bad guy let them "win"Today…
In my (amateur) opinion it depends on the situation. If the opposition truly is guilty but there is no other way to prove it, then i guess being harsh is an option.

Like with the mum's case. She chose to pursuit damages for the paralysis instead of suing them only for negligent driving despite the fact that everybody around her told her there was no physical contact. Even after it was explained she still refused to believe. While I feel bad for her, she needed a harsh wake up call for her son's future sanity.

With the nanny, he really was too harsh and judgemental with her.

TBH it would be interesting to see Yun tackle a similar case like the alzheimer patient's situation where the opposition is itelling the truth but you can only break them with underhand methods see if things have changed (then again KHM would probably stop him if he did do anything).

The discussion on this thread did make me realize that most of the "positive changes" I noticed were not really from Yun but originated because of KHM's meddling. So it's possible that he may have not really changed. He probably felt bad but as a lawyer he cannot afford to be emotional.🫠

Yh and he didn’t feel bad about it like whattt
Sorry what I meant by the last line was the fact that most recent kdramas expect the audience to fill in the blanks just for the sake of meeting drama time schedules.

I mean they could have easily explained all the points you brought up but they didn't bother to/ nor are they able to since they would exceed the drama's fixed 1.10 hrs approx schedule unless they sacrife other scenes. Instead they left a few clues for the audience to do whatever they want (like in my case I assumed the husband eventually accepted Yun's help since he agreed with Yun that his wife wouldn't want him to suffer).

Of course it's lazy writing to expect the audience to fill in the gaps always but then again since each episode covers a new case, it can't be that easy to decide which scenes are important and which ones aren't to meet the time limit😅

About what you said- I agree. Just because it's a drama, it's not an excuse to promote questionable behaviour. It still baffles me why people call the ML from QOT no.1 husband material when he spent nearly half the drama being happy that the FL was sick/ dying regardless how he was treated by the in-laws😅

You do make a good point but with his level of meticulous reviews, could he really have been that clueless? For instance recent modifications to the defendant's car could be checked (kdrama logic would give them access to these kind of records).

Thinking on this point deeper though most of the recent case outcomes changed only because of KHM's need to dig deeper so yeah may be he really hasn't changed much- but it doesn't change the fact that he must have felt bad enough to help the husband despite being rejected multiple times.

Leaving the audience to wonder how Yun managed to convince the husband to make him his lawyer wasn't the best move definitely (unless they want us to think that the husband knew that Yun was right about the fact that his wife wouldn't want him to suffer for her decision).

Yes, Yun never apologized but is there a good way to apologize? Specially after he originally admitted that he was just doing his job? A simple sorry won't really cut it and it would feel pretentious.

I guess by acknowledging the fact that he too was partially responsible for her state before the husband could say anything is the least pretentious way to show his remorse? He did remember their case even after approx 3 years too despite his heavy work schedule so at least he didn't dismiss her case like she was a used tissue. In my opinion anyway.

It's a kdrama at the end of the day anyway 🙈

The mum was in the wrong and in denial though whereas attacking the alzheimers patient when he knew his aggressive behaviour will break her honest resolve was beyond cruel🥲

The nanny's situation too, he was harsh with her before he found out the whole truth right? (Sorry that case is quite blurry now🙈)

Glad that you are enjoying it- you are about to start their uni arc next!

In the drama's defence, even GJX pretty much asks the Ex why he couldn't just enjoy his new successful life (so they definitely knew what they were doing). I guess a cdrama cannot be a true cdrama without some unnecessary drama eh?🥲

Glad to hear that you are open minded about TT censorship- it makes things easier to accept 🙈

Could today's case also imply how people can change? The Yun from "3 years ago" doesn't really feel like the Yun we know in some ways. Sure, he's still cut throat, but he seems more ethical with his dealings now?

NGL it's rather ironic that they potrayed him in that way when I looked down and judged the L&S lawyer from the neurodivergent artist's case for doing the same thing.

True. Even i feel like we'll probably only get some kind of hint at the end of the drama - specially since they have the second couple too to fulfill the romance requirement.

About his relationship with his other co-workers, i guess it's important to consider the duration he knows them?

From the people we know he trusts, KHM is the only person he's known for a really short time? But he seems to be at his most vulnerable point with her?

With the senior, he has a lot of respect towards her. With the second couple, he's known them for a long time too (but the fact that the 3 of them do not really meet up nor really know much about eachother's connections suggest that even if he is comfortable with them, he doesn't really share everything? )

PS: in case you didn't see the many warnings about ep 23, for your own peace of mind, if you want to only enjoy the writer's intended ending, stop the video at about 32.58ish in ep 23).

Personally I didn't mind the censorship loophole ending for the most part but then again I've learnt to be charitable with C-Timetravel dramas so that could be why🙈

There's no only her ex interested on her
No worries :)

To understand what happened in ep 20-23, we need to go a few years/ episodes back.

Once the SML finds out that GXJ and Lin are dating, he leaves the country to study overseas. 2 years into the MC's relationship, GXJ finds out that Lin has been hiding something crucial and takes a breather from their relationship to process her feelings (won't spoil what happened). The SML somehow finds out about this and assumes that she broke up with Lin and so he flies back to China to win her hand. GXJ clears the misunderstanding and as a gesture of goodwill to a friend, she hinted to him that he should invest in AI.

A few days later, our clueless SML decides to surprise GXJ at her lab without any prior notice. He accidentally overhears the MC talk about their shared experience from the future and how the SML used to date GXJ. Hearing this, the SML abruptly leaves (and goes back✈️✈️✈️)

A few years later- 2024 of the new timeline, Lin and GXJ are now working together to release their latest smart car C2 (they are also now in their "talking with the parents phase right before officially proposing" stage). While looking for investors, they get contacted by a mysterious uber rich investor. This turned out to be the SML.

At first the SML acts like he is no longer into GXJ but it turned out to be false- since the SML knows that there was a version of him who got to date GXJ now he firmly believs that he too has the right to date her now that he has become successful instead of being a bum like his former self. Using his investment and influence, he tries to sabotage Lin's project by planting false proof that Lin's vehicle is dangerous and doesn't do what Lin claims to do. The SML pretty much becomes a bit psycho and obsessive after that and crosses the line (typical cdrama plot). Eventually GXJ, Lin, and their team are able to save the day and the SML ends up going to prison (and that's the last we hear about him)🙈

His transition may seem odd but honestly if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Even as a kid he kept manipulating GXJ into liking him even if they were harmless schemes back then. But the increasing obsession was always there🫠

(Sorry for the long message btw and hope you are still enjoying it!)

The ex's drama is over. Yun took the first step to let go of the past by putting proper boundaries with the ex. He also admitted that he feels vacant. So at least we are free from that arc 😁

As for the rule, Kdramas and Cdramas do love to play with ironic rules like that with CEO romances so I guess we shouldn't be too worried just yet?

Yun is a serious guy but at the same time we do know that once he let's his guard down, he pretty much melts (the flashbacks with his ex + the fact that he didn't notice his wife's loss of love because he just believed they were at a new phase of love kind of confirms it). Yun needs somebody he could truly talk to and so far in his life the closest he has is his assistant. But now with KHM, he is able to speak his mind freely just like how he used to with the ex. If they are able to overcome their personal feelings about a senior-junior dating eachother, Yun might break his own recommendedrule.🤭
