You can't convince me that there wasn't an entire episode taking place where they are both in the present, remembering…
I totally agree with you on this! Usually when cdramas end, they anyway have a certain farewell kind of feel when the drama ends, but here you don't get that feeling at all. 🥲
I'm honestly surprised they were allowed to retain their memories at all so I guess this is better than waking up with no memories at all.
It was what I was expecting anyway (similar to Alice in Borderland S2). The only concern I had was Gao's faith. 🫠
What did the censorship do? I don't understand why did they have to come back in time?Need an explanation for…
Time travel is banned in China since it gives the illusion that you can change history.
In SOOY's context, they pretty much changed reality completely right? Right down to even stock investments and B&C's issues which didn't happen in ther original timeline. This is a HUGE NO-NO.
To bypass the ban, the writers probably added the coma thrope- so the whole story meets the "it's a dream" concept.
On the bright side, the MC have their memories so they will get together and they can start over since they are still young.
Someone suggested that the reason why we don't have the usual 24 episode concept here is because the final episode got banned. Honestly it makes sense.
Curiousity got the best of me after seeing all the comments. Skipped to the dreaded final 33min mark-It's not…
Clearly the MC retained their memories so they will be together. The Second couple too end on an optimistic open ended note for those who care.
Lost hard work- TBF GXJ is still in her 20s- she can start again with a similar field if she truly wants it. Same with Lin Z. He's still a rich genius.
The brother too is from an ever evolving field. Knowing how determined GXJ is, she might help him out again. Same with TianTian too. Since she has Lin's support too, she could try to help her parents too with better investment ideas again (though it will be more risky this time).
Gao's 🕊 is the only sad thing honestly but since the drama didn't mention anything about him or the other side characters, we can be a little delulu right? 🙈

It's not thaaaat bad even if it was too abrupt. I was expecting a complete disaster for a minute there. Censorship sucks and I'm sure even the writers wished if things were different🥲
Overall the ending is fine if you don't overthink things.
Edit: one of the users suggested ep 24 might have not passed censorship screening- this does make a lot of sense. Guess we should be glad that we at least got 23 eps and use our imagination to fill in the blanks?🤔
I swear to God it used to be my fav on going drama coz its soo fckn good! I love the ml. but Idk.. I just think…
You are not alone. I usually struggle with C-drama ratings on MDL for the same reason. It feels wrong to mark them as "dropped" even because the story was good until it got too meh during their dating era. I usually end up not adding them on my profile at all (unless the drama truly was annoying enough to drop).
With SOOY, right now the main reason I'm still around is because I want to know how they'll tackle the ending. It's good that we only have 23 episodes instead of the usual 30+ format. The couple is lovely though🙈
Gu Xue Jiao's brother is such a hopeless case… I don’t think the creators even know how his character works.…
Regarding school and lack of skills- The 3 repeat years were for his parents' benefit. They only listened to him after the FL intervened. Throughout the 3 years (or may be even longer) he has been secretly working on the skills needed for graphics or whatever he is doing now. That's why he is often caught sneaking around.
Based on ep 20, he's supposed to be known in the gaming/ digital community (can't recall which industry exactly)- i'm basing this on the fact that he was one of the guests/ hosts of GXJ's tech competition as well as the fact thathe told the Frenemy that he has many gold medals that he can share with her.
That being said, he really needs to work on his brotherly skills. He cares about GXJ but it's just barely there.
I think he also remembers everything. So he tries to be a better personBecause he didn’t want to ruin her life…
That's what I feel too? After the ex went through 2 accidents now (as ler ep 21's promo). For all we know, perhaps he got run over by a vehicle in 2024 too at the time the elavator was malfunctioning?
I am not sure but it looks like the SML might know more than his letting on? Perhaps he too ended up going back in time? He did start to act abit odd right after he got hit by the truck after all 😅
Unless he really does have an excellent investment team and I'm reading too much into what he says at the end of the promo- i'm probably wrong 🙈
It is a cliche but it still mirrors the first timeline (even if the year is different).😅I mean the day the…
She apologizes (according to ep 20's preview) so that's something. Her personal insecurities made her short sided unfortunately.
True, usually the ML is made to sacrifice everything. In SOOY i guess, since the ML also acknowledges that he was too harsh on her in their past life (specially since she didn't know why he was behaving like that) there's at least something I guess 🫠

I do admit after the initial shock, the FL could have softened abit. It's understandable whyvshe got mad since she kept ssking him if she did/ said anything and even knowing that she was from the future, he didn't really keep her in the loop of his grand plan to oust B&C.
I meN him not telling her about his plan with B&C because he couldn't explain the future events is understandable but since he knew how worried she was about the project and she would have understood "the future" reason, it can feel disappointing.
It's good that they will be clearing everything today.
Ep 20 preview explains it. Still the ML doesn't really deserve such a huge reaction 🙈
He knew her since they were kids/ was always in the picture so to speak.
It's just that once the FL went back in time, she stopped hanging out with the frenemy. The FL chose not to waste time trying to reform the frenemy since it's not her duty to play baby sitter. She's lived through a lifetime of sabotage and trauma thanks in partially to the frenemy.
The brother on the otherhand has no idea how far the frenemy can go because before the FL came back, the frenemy didn't really have to work hard to sabotage her. In his pov, the frenemy is competitive/ her mum is controlling. The camping scene was his breaking point but he still wanted to believe in her 😅
I agree that he shouldn't have been lenient with her just because he knew that the mum was the root cause but then again she was his first love for a reaaaally long time so as annoying as it is, it kiiiind of makes sense (specially given his personality).
(Usual concept is 24 episodes but this having 23 episodes seems highly suspicious considering how it ended)

Shame we'll probably never know what happened in that last episode 🥲
Do they release deleted script scenes with cdramas like with kdramas?
I know i wouldn't feel this charitable if it was a kdrama or Jdrama but because you know what could have happened...it's difficult to get mad 🙈

But hey- we can't please everybody eh? Even I've dropped some popular dramas🙈
