Title Way Back Love Spoiler
wait what did I miss fl dated Hong-Suk after mls death ?!,
I keep seeing comments on this but i personally took it as they were eachother's "emotional support crutches" but the way they handled grief was too different for them to continue being friends?

It doesn't really make sense why they'd date eachother so soon when the FL rejected him before the ML's death and the SML knew about the ML's feelings too 🙈

Is Buried Hearts based on a LN or Webtoon? Curious to know if there is more to the story 🙊

Considering how ep 16 ended, it looks like Dongju might come back- at least to protect Eunnam one last time

So this must be why characters freeze when they see the white truck of doom....🫠

I know this drama is going to leave me in a sobbing mess by the end of ep 6....but gosh is it so addictive.🥲 The nostalgia, innocence, hopelessness, and KRU's contagious smile is just too good to resist🙈

Haha yes! The cast really did put in a lot of effort in their roles. For the life of me i can't decode if i hate or like Ildo for instance 🥲🤣😅

With the FL, I find her selfish for stringing DJ along when she knew he was planning her wedding (huh🤣🙈) but i mostly pity her.

I like how the ending is still not too obvious...there's still several scenarios that could happen 🤫

Exactly....besides isn't the source material from a GL webtoon? You can't have GL without....lesbians (even if it is implied only) 🙃

Honestly I applaud the team in a way. Kdramas are notorious for watering down LGBTQ dramas in order to avoid prejudice and bad ratings, but Friendly Rivalry really pushed boundaries (at least as at ep 12 since I'm still catching up)- specially considering the fact that the main cast is well known too👏👏👏

do you guys recommend I watch? what do you rate this show?
I'm not a fan of makjang usually but something about the drama still has managed to hold my interest.

The ML is interesting (though he lives a tortured life) and one of the main villains -Ildo- is interesting. The other main villain personally gives me caricature vibes similar to the villains you find in cartoons (dangerous but kind of humorous in a way i can't quite explain).

The romance was strong in the first episode but kind of dwindles by the latter half but it's understandable since Romance was never the main objective of the drama. The FL's character is a bit polarizing since some like her and some don't. The actress keeps her character alive though so she isn't annoying if you try to understand her intentions (she's not a gold digger despite what some might say).

I still don't get it, how ml is okay to call him dad an even want to be in good terms with him !? is not he's…
Dongju always wanted to have a real relationship with his father so this might be what's causing the conflict of interest?

Professor Seo "dad" pretty much gave him abandonment issues too. He hates Ildo but can't help craving for his fatherly warmth, specially since he knows that Ildo didn't know that DJ was his son. Dongju also knows first hand how well Ildo treats his son (TY).
DJ also always wanted to make his dad proud, and in a way since Ildo knows too well about his accomplishments, this need gets fulfilled now (I wonder if Ildo had a chance to tell DJ how proud he was though🤔) ?

Seeing Ildo's pathetic devastated state after finding out the truth, perhaps deep down even DJ thought that may be somewhere in the long long run (30+ years) they might eventually be able to reconcile even if it sounds wrong? Ildo's sudden death also means that Dongju is officially an orphan with absolutely no family (specially seeing as even Eunnam's future with him is looking pretty grim too).

To sum up, he's dealing with too many crisises/ complicated feelings at the same time so he doesn't really know how to deal with Ildo's passing. 🙈

Since Dongju naturally is an affectionate person who easily forgives by nature, this too might complicate things further since he is in a truly vulnerable position at the moment.

Haha now that you mentioned it....that episode does feel a lot like "Luke, I am your Father" minus the fact that even Korean Darth Vadar here wasn't aware of it either 🙈🥲

The FL's revenge plot honestly got hijacked. It would have been nice to at least know how she was planning to use the power she got from the shares to get her revenge before she returned the share back.

That I agree - tastes can change :)

There's time so you can try it again when you feel like it rather than forcing yourself😊

I used to dislike makjang until quite recently but I'm really enjoying Buried Hearts despite all the melodrama and crazy twists. Same with World of the Married. A few years ago I would have dropped these kind of dramas after ep 4 or so but guess I've changed 😅

To be very honest, it depends on your choice of genre. I have seen most of the negative reviews coming from people…
Exactly! Lovely Runner and the character relationships are like an onion. The more deeper you "peel", the more emotional you get - whether it's romance, family, bromance, or simply friendship🥲

They are not siblings..
Some are predicting that Eunnam might be already pregnant with Dongju's child. By that logic, should she abort the fetus in that case? It would be immoral to have your step brother's child afterall right and force the kid into a lifetime of trauma?
(I personally don't know if this is true since I've lost track of the number of months it has been since ep 1's events).

***
Under normal circumstances it would be unethical but their case is special. Ildo and E's mum have already ruined their childhood and youth. Even E's marriage could have been avoided if none of this 💩 happened.
It's unfair to force them to separate just because a bunch of murderers decided to let some old goat manipulate them- specially since Dongju was never treated like family anyway.

By the looks of it, Eunnam's mum anyway was planning to divorce Ildo in order to protect her son's legacy so is their relationship really worth judging? Specially since at this point, it's not even clear if E and D will get back together eventhough they still love eachother.
