The detectives do show up anyway based on the preview only it's not clear if it's at the abandoned building. Only problem if they show up at the buikding is that the dates are not mathing- unless the a-hole driver captures Sol on the 07th of May, kidnaps her and brings her back to Seoul and the events continue as destined on the 10th (at least at the beginning till Seon Jae jntervenes)

Oh don't get me wrong. The novel is probably good on it's own. Just that the drama diverges from it since the taxi driver's arc and the SML are apparently new additions.
