Sanpang isn't really that bad...he's just looking out for Qian since he knows first hand how terrible Qian's life…
Haha tell me about it π
His heart was in the right place but boyyyy is he a Hypocrite. Wish if they'd show how SP and Lili ended up together. Did SP feel horrified too at first? Did he runaway?ππ€£π€£
There was a pretty big earthquake in Taiwan today so itβs possible the episode is going to be postponed.
I hope not but it does sound really bad.
Is Unknown streamed on the local network? (I mean mainstream Taiwanese tv channel or whatever you call it?) If so, they might postponr depending on how bad it gets by Saturday πππ
Those who have read the novel can you tell me what illness does Qian has?
According to the novel he gets a tumour or something like that towards the end of the novel (but it get's cured via surgery- Yuan even doesn't find out about it till after the surgery).
The drama seems to be leaning towards complications with the head injuries he got back during his mob days (i mean they showed in one of the early episodes where they connected a headache to this flashback where Qian's head gets bashed to the ground during his last fight with the gang). Since we will have one more mob scene according to the trailer, may be the fight causes further damage?
It doesn't help that Qian is the King of Workaholics eitherπ€·ββοΈ
Wait...i don't get why Takashi-san's own mother given him up for adoption part. Maybe the subtitle is going too…
It's similar to what happened in "Tokyo in April is"
Rumours about Takashi planning to run away with a GUY would be an absolute no-no to his family (he seems to be related to an uber rich -probably powerful- clan).
Gay= dishonour to the family= you are no longer part of the familyπ€·ββοΈ
In the novel Yuan was obsessed with Qian - every breath was for Qian so it's hard to imagine that Yuan would distract himself consciously with anybody else.π π π
Yuan from the drama isn't as intense as his novel counterpart but the way how he focusses on things and Qian make it seem out of character why he would distract himself with anything/anyone less than Qian. Y is loyal to a fault. He is definitely more mature now emotionally though.
(Then again it's just my opinion-my delulu π π)
Is Yuan going to play hard to get? A part of me thinks he's just trying to keep a distance or something in order…
Think it's a combination. He honestly wants to make Qian more comfortable since Ge is his #1 priority so he tried to hold back.
But Qian's reactions to Yuan's new chill outlook isn't really subtle (at least based on the trailer and ep 8 preview) so may be there's a little teasing involved too because Y can sense that Q feels abit left out.
I have not caught up with the comments when I made my last, so really it has nothing to do with the discussion. And…
Definitely no deal. Personally i'm glad they covered Yuan's absense and reunion in 1 episode. It would be even more torture to watch Yuan go through so much pain. Qian being depressed is bad enough but all the tiny segments they had with Yuan in ep 7 spoke volumes without him having to say anything.
Honestly it was one of the best time lapses I've seen to date -Really well exceutedπ
Do you have any other recommendations of novels written by Priest?
Honestly the novel and the drama are quite different. They've taken the foundation from the novel but made the story their own. For instance the characters are much more gritty in the novel - specially Yuan (but I love our Yuan more).
Personally i love the drama better (but i can't really judge since i only read the Yian/ Qian storyline since Saturday was too far awayπππ)
The good thing about the novel is that it gives a good context for certain subtle scenes in the drama. Like in ep 7, when they showed Qian's watch, i thought it was a product placement ad for Fossil l/ to show that Qian's workaholism was worse now but the main point actually was that Qian has a dual time watch so he always knows what time it is where Yuan is - Yuan was always on his mind even if he didn't talk to him π (I didn't notice the dual watch face till i read about it earlier this week).
Lol after watching the episode going and rewatching the trailer has become my ritulal now. I think next episode…
Lmao - Yuan did look like he was really enjoying the arguement eh? For somebody who is always ready to intervene as a kid, the smug excitement (while looking chill) was hillarious- so promising for next week π€£π€£π€£
Guess it doesn't hurt to see SP getting a taste of his own medicine too πππ€£

Fingers crossed though

Either way, it will only be temporary :)
Specially with reels covering "future" scenes like this - Saturday is way too far awayππ

There seems to be quite a lot of dramas that are based on Priest's work but are kept on hold
Love the censorship π€·ββοΈ
