I didn't read the novel. But from the comments on this forum, I saw some comments that this story is their least favorite of the author's works, not that they don't like the novel at all.

I also thought of Zhao Min and and Wu Ji 3 wishes deal. Don't think Duke Su's last request would be to darken JL's eyebrows. =)

If we're talking about ep 14, I don't think he enjoyed being with her Princess at all. It's all an act on his part to stay alive and save his family. Some of the stuffs he said to calm the princess down was also to deflect her ire off FL.

I'm not a braindead one, but we can see how FL could be moved or her interests piqued by ML's strength and resolve for justice. He's definitely not a coward in dealing with difficult character like the Princess which FL had witnessed in how he controlled the situation. Her ex-husband was a weakling and not loyal, and she could see that ML is the opposite of the ex. We're not talking about instant falling head over heel on her part. We're just swooned by the couple because they have great on screen chemistry even though nothing is happening between them, but the under current tension is clearly obvious.

I'm really glad that Duke Su and the Emperor have a tight relationship and they have full trust in each other. Duke Su actually smiled when he was talking to the Emperor in ep 14!

WXY really does an excellent job portraying Duke Su. He's 1000% oozing coolness everywhere. His minute hand gestures are so captivating, not to mention how his eyes track his target.

ML admired FL's intelligence and courage. He was drawn to her the moment he realized she was using him and Mrs. Liu to escape the MengNu Hall.

He's such a menace! I love how he's protective of her yet trying not to show it.
